probably opinions formed from those who have seen his work live , which is the only way to make an "informed" opinion

the vote was taken (from memory) from about 270 industry people from musos , producers , journalists etc . , not "Rolling Stone people per say

probably a few youngins in there for sure

people get wrankled by these things but the point is all these lists are purely "subjective"

look at the recent poll on the ABC for the best 10 albums of all time ... Anthony Callea came in 37 FFS

personally ... i rate Jack White ... some do , some don`t , so be it

They have some great songs... their set at the 06 BDO was fantastic.

Didn't go but they're sideshow was awesome, my favourite band.

Most Rolling Stone lists are very bad. And the guitarists one was probably the worst.

As far as the thread goes... I don't know, I can stomach a few of their songs, but some I can't. I bought Elephant, so I got into them a bit when I was in school, but that's about it. My favourite song is probably Black Math, for whatever reason. Their covers or "Jolene" and "One More Cup of Coffee" aren't too bad, either. And Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground is a pretty good song.

Or the overall benchmark has slid to a place where it is judged on wether the average bad guitarist can play the riffs.
