We all admittedly wanted his blood at some stage in the last few years. I even nicknamed him "fatboy slim", or said things of the manner, "he played better when there was a McDonalds logo on the ball cos he thought it was a cheeseburger and wanted to get it, that's why he took so many marks".

No doubt he's been great this year, but if he has a shocking year next year that could be almost it for him.

If he slows down a touch more, I fear his footy brain wont be enough.

This is one of the toughest things to think about.

What a load of garbage. Big Red would be leading our B and F and is a contender for the AA team.
Gee whiz you never ever trade your valuable commodities, especially when we have so few.
Whitnall provides much needed leadership and direction for the young kids at the club. We are berefit of leadership ability ?
Who else do we have to look for leadership ? Nick Stevens ? No thanks.
No way would Whitnall would be traded, even if only for his leadership abilities. Don't destroy the fabric of a group lacking in confidence and maturity.

Yeah the main thing is leader ship. With Kouta most likely to retire, and if we trade Whitnal, that leaves Stevens and the next most likely for captain probably Fevola I think... :-S

just in reply to "celtic pride's" comments you are effectively offloading a valuable commodity for a greater valuable commodity. Also when you look for captains can we really reward Lance whitnall the captaincy because he has had 14 good games from the past 75, all 14 coming this year. You seem to question stevens...came to the club 2.5 years ago...2nd twice in B and F and will be there abouts again this year...So is this so called garaunteed captain "whitnall" have to be kept just for leadership. So much leadership that over the past 5 years has displayed a 1 : 5 good to bad game ratio. GEEEEEEEEE that really worries me if he is to be our captain, since all fo a sudden one good year has just forgotten a horrid past history
