Who can we barrack for now?

I'm not used to the season being over so early. The forum seemed pretty negative last night, I just thought I'd put in something that wasn't calling for players heads. It's mostly just crap though, if you don't want to read it you can just write who you're supporting and why.

Geelong : I grew up in Western Victoria so half my friends are Geelong supporters. It would be funny if they screw it up again, but a lot of them were happy for me when the Swans won so I'd be happy to do the same for them.

Port : My brother barracks for Port so I have a soft spot for them. I don't think that anyone rates them much of a chance, but they love close games and that's what makes classic finals. Port and the Crows take up too much of the newspaper over here, and also the TV coverage when it should be a Swans game, so I don't like them that much anymore.

West Coast : Nuh. It needs to stay one all between us. Our rivalry is so big at the moment I'm surprised they don't drop out of the finals so that we don't get too much advantage over them in the draft this year.

Kangaroos : Shannon Grant. He was one of my favourites as a swan, and I saw him out in Ballarat one night, in 2000 I think, and forgave him for leaving and we had a big drunken hug. I was standing next to Leigh Colbert that night and I turned to the guy on the other side of me and asked "Is that Leigh Colbert?" and he went "Yeah, and I'm Adam Simpson". And I went "Yeah, Good one buddy!" and walked off. Half an hour later he came back with Corey McKernan and Matthew Capuano in headlocks either side of him, and he yells "I am Adam Simpson!".

Hawthorn : I enjoy seeing what Lance Franklin can do. Because Hawthorn never seem to beat us, I have no hard feelings towards them. A few good mates of mine are good-natured Hawthorn supporters, so I'd like to see them do well.

Collingwood : At least we could say we were knocked out by the eventual winners. Anthony Rocca and Paul Licuria were on Sydney's list, but didn't do much, especially when you compare to what they have done since.

So, in conclusion, I am barracking for everybody but West Coast.

Either Port or Cats. If they both end up in the GF, which i think they will then i'll probably cheer for Port. I'd love to see Gary get the triple though - Brownlow, Norm Smith and Premiership medallion. The only thing i don't like about Geelong is some of the fans i encountered down at Geelong this year.. strange. Apart from Mooney though there's not anyone in the team i don't like and even with him, i really respect what he has down this year after getting reported how many times last year? I must admit i love the Port song though and i have a soft spot for Daniel Motlop so i'm just hoping they both make the GF and we'll see.

Well I'm not a Swans fan, but seeing as my team is out I thought I'd comment here anyway .
Hmm well Hawthorn are my second team, and I love Buddy so probably them first. After that, well I have a soft spot for Port because they were written off at the start of the year. I don't want Geelong to win because they've been way too good this season, although it looks like this is gonna happen after today

I hope West Coast thrash Collingwood next weekend but I don't want them to get another flag before we do.

I don't want to see Geelong win it purely because every game I have been to at skilled stadium has made me hate their supporters more and more.

Yeh right now I woul love to see port and cats in the GF hopefully a cats win but would love to see the cup stay out of Vic. The cats have been the inform team this year though and really do deserve to win.

Port are the only interstate team with a realistic chance of winning so i'm on their band wagon. Salopek is a gun and only time will tell if we picked the right guy in McVeigh.

I must admit i saw that finals ad on CH10 last night and my eyes filled up. I think i'll have to turn the TV off straight after the final siren of the GF. It hurts knowing we're not going to be there and that it won't be our boys celebrating.

Over the Public Address System it plays "What though the odds be..." but when the team sings the song they say "Whether the odds be...." Don't you think it's time we had one song for all occasions??? No question for me. Go the Cats. I was a Cats supporter as a boy and suffered the humiliation of the famous 1989 GF against the Hawks (and wrecked my own telly with a well aimed tinny at the siren), then I suffered again at the hands of the Weagles in 1992 & 1994 before once again going down, this time to Carlton, in 1995. In 1996 I switched to the Swans, as I'd started going to their games the year before, only to be humbled again in the 1996 GF. I felt like I couldn't win a trick. 5 GF losses in just 8 years. So when the Swans won in 2005 I was as happy as a pig in poo. Now it's the Cats turn and when they win, as they surely must, the scars of my childhood will no longer hurt.

So go go you big Pussies and I will be cleansed of all my pain.

Even worse, my sister, who supports the Swans was singing the Collingwood song after they DEFEATED Sydney. She says she likes the song... jesus. I would've washed her mouth with soap if my mum wasn't nearby. And when they defeated WCE in that thriller she was singing it again. Seriously, shes no sister of mine.

I'll be barracking Port. I have a soft spot for them, but I was going for the Eagles last night 'cos I really don't want the Pies to win. Port all the wayy... and Hawks too.

Im watching parts of the Roos vs. Hawks game its not looking 2 bright for the Hawks who im going for right now...so i guess idd like 2 see the Catas win it!
