I'm just wondering, what Eagles players do people rate more highly than the general footballing brains trust would- what players are your 'favorites', in the sense that you believe they are/could be much better than they are given credit for?

My three would be.

Embley: Has been getting a fair it of props lately, but I don't think people have realised just how important he's been to us till he got hurt. Embers has really been the complete player this year- tall, strong marking, good defensively, a hard running midfielder and a threat up forward. With his newfound wonderful work ethic, I think its fair to say he has more improvement left in him. Prior to injuring himself, he was about top 20 in the league in terms of productivity.

Staker: Loved the look of him from day 1. Like embers, his speed, agility and good hands suggest he is a midfielder, the fact that he is 195cmish and can take a pack mark make him an outstanding prospect. He has taken to AFL footy without a hiccup, could end up as either a bigger, scarier looking version of Koutafides, or one of the quickest KPPs around.

Jones: Mr Underated from day one. Jones always plays smart. He's an absolute master of finding space, and marks well out of his size division. His lack of flair means he simply doesn't get the props that someone like Kerr or Judd would, but he's pretty outstanding all year. He and Chick make a great midsized HFF combo.

Kane Munro - but I'm still basing that on potential than what his delivered......I think he might just need a kick up the ass to get him going.

are we talking about who we consider to be than what the Eagles brain trust would, as in Woosha and co. or what the general AFL world would, as in what you'd read on the AFL main board??

If it's the latter, one guy I'd go for is David Haynes.

He is so fast for a guy of his size, and he's often a good 4 to 5 metres in front of his defender when he gets on a lead, and his hands don't let him down much. With lots of work on his kicking, he'll be a VERY dangerous player.

In terms of leading, there would hardly be a full forward in the competition, who constantly is so far in front of their opponent as Haynes is when the ball hits him......including Lloyd and Tarrant.

Rowan Jones - rediculously good above his head for his size, and probably has more pace than we appreciate.

Kasey Green - I have a soft spot for him, but this boy can play. Delivers every week IMO and is rarely beaten. Runs off pretty well and his disposal has improved.

Andrew McDougall - I have stars in my eyes. Could potentially reshape our team. Could realisticly end up as nothing. He and Gaspar are the two most important players in our future (assuming our midfield strength continues).
