Who is best placed to replace Cox while he recovers from his groin injury?

Seaby seems to play well when Cox is out. I'd say that Cox really needs a rest be it that he has to risk All-Australian selection. In the St Kilda game, he had less hitouts than Lynch.

May as well play seaby while Cox is out. If he plays half decent then we might be able to get something at the trade table. When Cox was out a few years ago for a period and Seaby was our number 1 he played quite well. He has some good form in the WAFL of late, so we should play him and see how he goes

Unless he had a blinding finish to the year, I wouldn't put him in All-Australian contention. I would have Sandilands, McIntosh and Jolly ahead of him, and that's without even mentioning Fraser and Ryder.

It's not that he's had a poor season, but his injuries have severely affected his ability to have a big effect on most games.

If he played through the injury, I doubt he'd make it anyway. He's much better off going in for surgery and getting himself right for 2010.

Seaby used to be of some good whilst up forward. Maybe he can prove himself useful up there again?

Its kinda funny seeing all these Seaby comments. Basically want him to play well so we can get more in a trade.

Heck, if he plays well, I wouldnt want to trade him!

He wants out, and I don't blame him. I want to do the right thing by him and if we can trade him somewhere else, do it.

He did the right thing by us last year and not going anywhere unless a fair trade could be agreed to. It didn't happen so he stayed. I want us to look after him.

Spot on, though we did have him under contract for 1 more year, so it wasn't completely his decision. I don't think we are going to get anything for him in a trade. I'd say, there will be few enough clubs interested in him to enable which ever club wants him to take him in the PSD.

Its a no brainer for me, sure Lynch+Naita combo worked ok v Hawthorn but it was clearly countered v Melbourne when Bailey realized all he had to do was tell his blokes to fly into Naitas legs/thighs/ etc.. We are coming up against Port and Fremantle in the next two weeks so it would be a bad idea not going in with Seaby.

Then theres the fact that Seaby is showing some really good form in the WAFL, if we didnt have a youth policy it would be sufficient to elevate him anyway. And of course Seaby always plays better when Cox is out of the team.

I also have a bit of a gut feeling that Seaby is the main man for directing Naita in the ways of rucking more so then Cox. It just seems that Naita mentions learning of Seaby more frequently then learning of Cox, and Seaby is the first bloke he mentions when asked about learning the ruck trade. Hopefully im right and that translates into them working well together on the field whilst Cox is out.

For all the bagging out of Seaby we are now reminded of the value of a back up ruckman.

Seaby will allow Q and NN game time but will carry a share of the load.

Yeah but he's not going to get a game when Cox isn't injured so he'll just be sitting on our list doing nothing I'm sure he'd prefer to be traded and actually have a chance of playing games not just sitting in the WAFL all year.

I say bring in Seaby he can take the workload off of Nick nat and Lynch and he is a decent ruckmen.

I always thought Seaby was a pretty decent ruckman and a fairly accurate kick up forward. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the side to rotate with Cox so Q doesn't have to get in there

I really think that we underrate Seaby. He was really good for us when we were up and about. He carried the ruck with aplomb when Cox was injured right up until last year.

I really hope that he strings a few good games together and shows all AFL supporters the quality that i am pretty sure that he has!

Let Seaby play for his career. You never know, we might get pick 50 for him.

I think Seaby will be really good....And pis off to another club at the end of the year.. He will be playing to go to another club.

He wanted to go last year to play at a club where he would get game time. The Eagles squissed that so they could have a back-up to Cox. And then Nic-Nat gets the call before him........Nah......I reckon he'll be difficult and you'll probablly get nothing for him as he will go into the psd.

Looks (going by some of these posts) as if Nic Nat will play this week:thumbsu:
