Hate to rain on your usual parade of imbecilic comments old codger, but the cup comes with the added bonus of the 4 points - you dont win the cup for losing, a concept you seem to be struggling with.

Yes Johnno I haven't experienced a derby where the E-girls
supporters are as reluctant to put a carton on before.

But you make my point well, we play for four points...not for a mickey mouse cup. Having a cup / medal suggests the game has more importance than other games...it doesn't.

Maybe Freo needs a few cups to go with their spoons

I suspect what Frodo is saying is that if we get the points, you can keep all the geegaws. Hell, if it floats your ferry you can have a big parade down South Terrace with Dockerettes and free lattes and Trent with his shirt off and the cup strapped to the top of a Monaro with the Prologics cranked up ... schweeet mate.

By the way, why is it being called a "cup"? It looks more like the hood ornament off the Starship Enterprise. Whatever happened to the duck clutching a footy glued to a big wooden base? Did they run out of room for the little plaques with "West Coast" engraved on them?
