Next week verse Essendon, who do we drop for Richo and Thursfield if both are ready?

I'd say Hughes will have to make way and one of McGuane/Connors. Tough decisions ahead of Terry and co.

When you win by 13 goals why change the side?

I say stick with those that did the job today and reward all of them with a big match against the Dons. Only changes I would make are if players don't come up with injury and as far as I can see everyone should be right to play.

Don't care if it is Richo who is to come back in. We just kicked 24 goals without him.

Wouldnt drop Hughes. Yeah he didnt play great today but he has still kicked 10 goals in the last 3 week. McGuane out for Thursty if hes right and then maybe Patto out for Richo.

Essendons rucks are Hille and Laycock. Laycock is terrible and Hille does all is damage around the ground so only playng one ruckman wouldnt hurt us to much IMO.

You need to start being realistic like your name sake. Richo dominates the Bombers and is a certainty to come back in if fit.

Patto played his best game of his career and it will be his 50th next week.

If Thurstys right, McGuane out unfortunately.

For Richo, who knows? Hughes would be a bit harsh. How exempt do we make it re: Polak? I'd like to see him stay.

We could go tall against Essendon. Especially with Michael out.

bloody tough call, prob mcguane and edwards would make way...bloody tough on edwards thought he put his stamp on the game that he wants to remain a senior player

Stop living in the past and start looking to the future. It is time to stop relying on Richo to be the one who delivers and put the acid on others to step up and deliver for the side. Show some confidence in Hughes, Riewoldt, Morton who combined for 9 goals between them.

Imagine how much more confident those 3 would become if Wallace was to say to them we're playing you 3 next week against the Bombers and they stepped up and won the game for us. Imagine how much confidence the team would have in them if that happened.

As I said in another thread the time has come to start finding out if the young players are able to stand up and deliver for this club. We aren't going to find out if they are, if we're still relying on Richo to be the one who steps up when a big game needs to be won.

Really don`t want to drop Hughes ... Mc Guane will be one out the other will be stiff whoever it is

Deledio will be sore once he cools down

I only heard it on the radio but it sounded like Edwards was better than Connors, even though both sounded like they played well enough to be able hold their spot in any other week, could that be another option for the Tiges instead of Edwards?

Thoughts on that?

Also I'm not sure Thursty will be ready, Tezza made THursty's tendon problem with his hamstring sound pretty bad and niggling and maybe more than a week, but that's just speculation, have to see how he trains this week.

Hughes will be unlucky if dropped and to be honest, any player dropped will be. Edwards won't be dropped.

Surely that is the end of Hyde as well.

PS - Realistic Tiger: I am being realistic.

Conners looks to me as though he is a ready made AFL footballer ... Should have been in a month ago , bloody indictment on the selectors that the likes of hyde and Tivendale have gotten a game ahead of him ... though i do suspect there is a little more to it than we may know about .

Suspect that they have made this kid really earn his spot in the side due to his "Errant" reputation

Whatever the story is ... he should not be dropped , Edwards was good but still has work to do

King is the one who might start finding it hard to get back in

Yeah i think king will struggle now, few of the other boys like Collins, Meyer will be knocking in the door if they keep going how they are going

play different roles, Connors was looking better as the game went on, was findign the pill all day, his kicks were a bit off earlier on , later in the game he was ON and looked the goods. He is balanced and looks comfortable at the level, MUST be left in the side...Edwards will get a more consistent chance later on and Polo was good , no chance of being dropped

On today's performances Connors and a toss-up between Morton and Hughes. It will depend on the match-ups Wallace wants and if there are any injuries from today. We need Thursty, Moore and McGuane down back with Schulz moving forward and back in the Polak role like he did well at today.

Just my opinion, but I thought McGuane was OK.
Richo must come in. (I am going to the game on a minibus with 20 Bummers fans and we must win). Thursty must playa on Lucas.
mcGuane probably out for Thursty.
if Richo is OK then not sure who would make way.
Also, don't underestimate how sore Lids will pull up after his knock to the knee once it cools down.,

McGuane was OK but there was not much action by the West Coast forward line today.

Different story next week with Lloyd, Lucas and Hille down there. We desperately need Thursty back in to back up McGuane and Moore.

I really don't like this philosophy. It's out-dated, if it ever were relevant.

Essendon are are a completely different team to West Coast, and play are very different style of football. We play them on a ground that is dimensionally very different to Subiaco, and probably in quite different conditions weather-wise.

If we want to beat Essendon, we need to pick a team that is best suited to beating Essendon, in terms of match-ups, fitness and form. That doesn't involve simply "rewarding" players for one good match, nor does it include dropping young players just because an older player has suddenly become available.

Normally Richo plays well against Essendon at the MCG, so if he's fit he should be immediately recalled. And with Lloyd and Lucas starting to look threatening maybe we need Thursfield to take one of them if he too is up for it. But we need to pick our Best 22 for Essendon, not necessarily our most deserving 22.

And we need to keep our eye on the prize, which is a lot further down the track than 2008.

yep ... our cricket team started it many years ago ... horses for courses

and in any case .. if Richo is fit he plays its as simple as that , and Thursfield will always get a game ahead of Mc Guane when fit... no brainer

Don't care if it is Richo who is to come back in.

What the hell is wrong with you?:thumbsd:

Richo is currently among the top 5 players in the AFL and you think he should play for Coburg just because we beat this year's wooden spooners?

Show some confidence in Hughes, Riewoldt, Morton who combined for 9 goals between them.

Your opinion doesn't make any sense.

We can rely on those 3 players with Richo in the side, how do you justify him not getting a game for this reason? Do you understand that Richo will be taking the place of a midfielder?

Do you?

Have faith in one of the greatest and most passionate Richmond players of all time.

I have no time for heartless supporters who don't think Richo should be getting a game FFS :thumbsd: GET ....... Realistic Tiger
