Opinion Who is our most important mid??

Our midfield is by most peoples belief the best in the comp, it is also our deepest commodity. All Australians a plenty and genuine stars of the game.

Kennedy, hanners, Parker, jack, mcveigh , bird , jetta are all premiership stars, throw in the likes of mglynn, Cunningham, Mitchell and Lloyd and it is an extremely frightening running brigade.

Kennedy is widely regarded as our best mid, a contested footy monster , hanners hard running, skillful disposal accumulator of the footy but if I had to pick one mid who I think is our most important , it would be parker.

This kid gets better and better every year. It's almost unfathomable to think this guy is only 21!. He attacks every contest with the intent to injure and maime. His marking is extremely good for a guy of his stature, tackling beast, and is developing into a very consistant goal kicker. His biggest strength is his intensity and desire, no matter how the team is going, you can count on Parker to set the example and tone to for the rest of the team to follow. You would have a hard time trying to remember the last bad game he played. As long as he is at the club, we will be going just fine

I still think it's Hanners despite almost everyone disagreeing with me in the thread where I laid out that view.

Let's be fair though, the real strength of our midfield is the sum of a bunch of excellent individuals.

If he ever misses a stretch of games, his influence would be missed by more than any other mid by a long, long way. One of those players that makes the others around him better players.

Yep i think unlike Hanners the effect of having Kennedy out would definitely be noticeable.

On the last Monday of the season, look for the guy with the Brownlow Medal around his neck, JPK.

Drooling at the thought of JPK landing the brownlow.

Macca is just Mr Consistency. LOVE his work. Amazing to think back when he started out as a tagger he was a lightning rod for criticism from Sydney fans who misread his effective disposals stats because of his negative pressure roles. But wow did he learn about a team ethic in the process!

Will be remembered as one of our greatest club leaders in time.
