Who matches up on Black

Whatever.

Gibbs is a gun anywhere.

At the Docklands last year, they couldn't get a hand on Gibbs who gave them a touch up.

Robinson was the stupid suggestion.

I'd rather bring in Hadley or Grigg to go to head to head with Black and sit on him.

And Browne to play on Rich.

I reckon Murphy might feel the pinch this week after his first competitive hitout after surgery.

Sorry TG, didn't mean to have a go at you. Obviously Gibbs is a gun, he is too good to waste on a clearance specialist

This post is a stupid

Robbo would take the challenge of stopping Black and nail it

Browne on Rich....[facepalm]. I never want to see Browne in the centre square

Of course Robbo would take the challenge up.
Right now he's best served as an offensive player and not trying to mind one of the better midfielders of the last decade.

Has this got something to do with Rich or is it more about your slant upon Browne?
I still like what I see Browne bringing to our club.
Not in favour right now for his sometimes wayward kicking in the off-season but I wouldn't throw out the baby with the bath water just yet.

Why not

That's how Gibbs started

I have nothing against Browne, but he is not the player you want at every contest.

It's possible I guess, but I just don't see Robbo being the super concentrator on field.
He is much better served as an attacking aggressor, I believe.

I may have to eat my socks on Browne, but he is exactly the player I'd like to see muscling mids.
If not for his kicking through the off-season I'm confident that Anderson would not have had first bite as part of the back six.
I still reckon he'll make it, but he hasn't done himself any favours in recent weeks.

Anderson out, Hadley in. Carrots to HBF, Murph starts at HFF.

Let McLean go with Black, Gibbs with Power. It's unlikely we can tag Black out of the game, so we need to keep our own quality mids in there as much as possible. I'd be looking at Robinson with Rich, though if he gives away any frees it'll cost us dearly.

Sherman provides plenty of run and isn't slow but my preference of Gibbs is more about my belief that he could tag Black better where Black does his best work, in close. AJ is fantastic but he works really well on the quality fast paced receivers/small forwards where he can run them down, plus I think Black could hurt AJ the other way whereas Gibbs could be more damaging when we have the footy, keep Black on his toes.

Not saying AJ can't do the job or won't get the job, just think Gibbs would be a better option.

Ummm ... AJ's game on Kerr last year was a pretty awesome effort against an "in close" mid. From memory Kerr was restricted to mostly handballs that night, he rarely got far enough from AJ for the chance to kick.

I wouldn't mind at all if I knew that the match up would see Black restricted in terms of kicks for the night.

From what I can tell, Power is playing more as a forward, rather than through the midfield. I'd do the following...

Gibbs to Black
Walker to Sherman
AJ to Rich

On that basis I think I'd go:

Russell - Power
Joseph - Black
Walker - Sherman
Gibbs - Rich

I can agree with this (provided the Power part is right otherwise he's AJ's)
because I agree with these

Not that Rich fits the fast paced description - more the receiver (finisher) bit
