Young Bomber Peake had a run with role with Kane Munro and shut him down.

Future is looking good.

hehehe We still need the draft but in terms of them 2 ;)
Happy is on the rookie list & Li'l Bomber will be picked up on the Father son rule.

Brett Peake was invited to train at Geelong according to Scotty Palmer and was going over for a look. Don't count them chickens yet.

Brett Peake will stay in WA . Geelong arent able to snare him under the FS rule. Peake played 66 games for the Cats 34 short of what Geelong wanted.

Absolute bull. He was invited to train with the dockers. Old bomber only played 66 games at Geelong so he is ineligible for the Father / Son. Scotty Palmer got his wires crossed I think.

im dumbfounded....why bother with Brett Peake when you have a look at the quality of players available in the draft from WA in 2003, in particular the South Fremantle boys.

I really am dumbfounded Peake is even being considered in light of that.

We are looking at drafting him as Father /Son (3rd Round Pick)

He has only had this year of senior footy and is IMO better than any of last years draft picks except Schammer. He has come on in leaps and bounds the last month so why not.

I wouldnt bother, id take Matt Moody, Jacob Surjan and Farren Ray if i could over Peake....if they are available there's your 3 picks up to round 3!!!!!!

Think about it

I see where your coming from but Peake is in only his first senior season and is improving weekly. If you'd seen him play on Farren Ray, a week or two ago, you'd see that he aint just living off the old mans name.

He still has alot of improvement left in him and being F & S we know when we can get him, the other players depend on the lottery.

We can still draft those blokes if the parasites havn't got them by the time our turn comes.

Well Ripper how do you prioritise who you would rather at the club then? Seems to me we'll be very lucky if they are around by the 3rd round...and if we are thinking about taking Peake as f/s what do you do if they are around then???

Have you seen Young Bomber play lately? He would go 2nd round IMO. The recruiting staff must be impressed with if they have invited him to train. And given our success with late pick's (Medhurst , Woods , Browne) and the promoted rookies (Hayden , Sandilands , Grover , Siegert , Webster) and the unpromoted rookies (Dodd , Gilmore , Mott) I am inclined to trust their Judgement. The last thing we need is some underdeveloped homesick Victorian Duds.

I have seen him play Ripper and IMO those 3 youngsters are alot more of a likelier prospect than Peake. All have something freakish about them, that's simply why I would go for them instead of the Peake name.

He'll get the opportunity to impress me against Souths this week and then I'll come back to you if i change my opinion on him.

As for Gilmore he is an absolute waste of a rookie listing. The guy for his size knows how to get the ball but effective disposals are shocking and he is such a pussy for his size its unbelievable. 190 odd cms and not one ince of tough football have i seen him play over 4 years at South. Quite disappointed with him as i thought he could go on with it.

Yep sounds like Andrew Embly in his early years ;)

What's a South's Supporter doing supporting the enemy?

Doswell towelled up Peake. Very impressive by Dossie probably his best game for the year. Gilmore added some physicality to his game and he played well!!!

From what i saw of Peake i wasnt impressed at all I'm afraid, Doswell completely dominated him all game.

*BUMP*

You can safely say you were wrong now Dasler and we will forgive you. ;)

Dasler ...your opinion and you are entitled to it ....just because it is wrong is neither here nor there.

Gilmore yeah what a joke, I take it you saw none of our pre-season or scratch games. Sandi was too tall for AFL according tot hose who saw him play ressies.

Worth a shot and from what I have seen based on this pre-season Happy's disposals have been a strength.

Peakey ....all in the breeding, I'm happy.

Moo

That was last year kids. I have no problem retracting that statement in the future as he has impressed thoroughly throughout the off-season and scratchies which is great to see.

My query was about physicality as he has always been a good user of the football.

Hopefully he will go on to have a big 2004.

Thanks Ken.

Sorry Dasler - should have read the date .....makes much more sense. I wasnt trying to be a Wednesdays Expert.

Moo ....ooM

(Me having a good hard look at myself)

Nothing wrong with your comments Dasler, you regularly get off your behind and go and see the different games of football so that you can comment on our future players. You research your subject well.

Hey Das, we've got your seat here on the Dockers Board ready for next season (post Slappo).
