Who should be Captain

I don't get how Juddy is Captain of the AA side. He was such a good roll model at West coast that most of his team turned to drugs, crashing cars drunk, or running from the police. There is no question the Juddy is a much better player than Harley but sure Juddy does not even come close when it comes to being a captain. A good player doesn't make a great captain......thoughts?

You could have made a few blokes captain of that AA team. Juddy has been fantastic this year, how he prepares for games, giving our kids a role model to learn from, and his form out on the ground has been very good.

The premiership has to have some weight in the argument though, as well as how geelong have performed since Harley has been captain.

You can but Judd didnt even get his new team into finals. Harley is a leader amongst leaders and stands out. Judd captains kids and Fev. Hell most people in the league voted harley most valuable captain. Cant argue with them. Voted ahead of Kirk aswell. Says alot about Tom. These 'judges' just like a better player.

That is complete rubbish... Captaining a football club doesn't earn a player the responsibility of making personal decisions for players. If Judd played for Geelong you would say he was a great captain... Geelong is that good right now, anyone could captain them successfully... It's widely known that Harley is not the only one firing orders around within the playing group, its shared around.

Saying that Judd as a role model turned players to drugs... pfft.. your a complete fool. Do you truly believe that BS?

Captain of AA should be the finest player (and role-model); that's not Harley.
Harley should be pleased with what he has achieved regardless.

Harley put his stamp on the leadership group last year so I would argue he has a huge influence on our success and culture. Where as at carlton I didn't see Judd any stage there telling Fev to pull his head in anytime during the season.

Exactly, this is the different between and great player and a great captain.

I think the All Australian honour of Captain (which is a huge honour) should be given to the best player in the league.

As a result, Buddy or more like, little Gaz get the nod.

I know this shouldn't have any wieght in the decision, but i heard in the lead up to the coversation with harley and Judd on the night that it was his first all-australian selection. Do you think this would have had any bearing in the decision and the fact Judd is already a three time all-australian meant he got the gong?

When I saw Harley was in the team I figured it basically WAS to make him captain.
