This is our weakest key position and will be crucial to whether our defence stands up this season or not. Who should we be looking to for the majority of the season?

Gee... that's a tough one I must admit mate. I have a temptation to play Kouta at CHB, but Pagan has hinted several times that he'll get a forward role. Kouta has played some brilliant games off CHB (which requires little twisting and turning as compared to a midfield role). He may have lost his agility, but his fitness, pace and strength hasn't died down. He's strong enough to handle a CHF for sure, and has enough poise to break away and lead the Blues to yet another attack.

If not the Koutaman, perhaps Thornton? He has bulked up 8 kgs, which makes him 92 kgs, doesn't it? He may grow a few cms before the season starts, or even during the season. Don't count him out, he'll be 95 kgs and 193 cms by the time we get to Round 11, I'm sure of it. Thronton has shown poise beyond his years... has shown great maturity, leadership, skill, confidence and ability than most of the kids.

Just might be the CHB we're looking for. Luckly enough that hardly anyone has heard of him/rated him so he'll be underestimated. He'll surprise a lot of people, not just the opposition. May be a wildcard to what may be a steady defence. Let's hope so.

Thorny backed by Prenda on occasions if the pre season training reports have any credibility. Agree with Thrawn that Thorny is going to surprise quite a few. Prenda has bulked up substantially, is quick, needs to work on his disposal, but seems to relish body on body play with new added bulk. He would be my choice for certain bigger opponents.

I'm torn with Prender ... is he the rookie from nowhere that showed such promise in 2001 or the athletic football hack that was on display in 2002? Is he a bit player or is he capable of dominating? I really thought he would be our CHB after the Wizard Cup last year and he went missing (with most of his mates) when we needed him most. It would be a shame to waste his superior athleticism.
