I doubt it. Coming off surgery and no pre-season to speak of would suggest he'll start slowly.

It was tough, but I finally decided to take him out of my side.

I want. If i could fit him into my backline i'd be all over it, but unfortunately can't with my structure. I wouldn't be so sure of this 'slow start' everyones talking about. Could come out on fire and have himself in the untouchable price range within a few weeks ala Ablett last year.

Here's who I think will:

Ablett
Hodge
Judd
Bartel
Boomer

And who i believe could:

Riewoldt
Drummond (injury free)
Deledio
Kerr (tags could be an issue)
Buddy (less frees against, more consistency)
Selwood (his 08 was amazing, 09 should be better, won't get tagged)
Cornes (SC gun! Wouldn't be surprised if Port somehow snuck into the 8 this year)
J.Brown (heard he's had his first 'good' pre-season in a while, so could fire from round 1)

Really?

......

Chad mate...
Chad's last 4 years - 2041 @120, 1937 @ 102, 2590 @ 118, 1163 @ 89
Kane's last 4 years - 2339 @ 106, 2328 @ 106, 2472 @ 112, 2063 @ 93

I know who I'd be taking.

most probably abblett
and also goddard and possibly judd if he is fully fit

id go for ablett, hodge after a slow start, judd and goddard.

I think that at the rate Deledio's going, he could average above 110 this year, but not much higher.

My point: I just thought that when the name Cornes was mentioned in an SC thread, 95% of the time people would assume that Chad was the brother people were talking about (i.e. Cornes = Chad, Kornes = Kane).

Chad was injured for most of last year...and still managed to ave 89.

Probably unfair to include Chad's 08 as a comparison...but if it 'strengthens' your point.......:)

I actually included 08 because it fits my point perfectly - he misses a lot of games. Nobody is doubting his class or point scoring ability, but I almost have to put him in the Drummond basket.

Thought this was worth discussing again at the half way mark of the year.

The only certainty at this point in time is Ablett. I reckon the next 10 on current average have a chance to do it.

They are:
Montagna - 125 (current avg)
Davis - 122
Hayes - 121
Sewell - 120
Pendlebury - 119
Judd - 118
Dal Santo - 118
Cox - 117
Goodes - 116
Swan - 115

Any others from outside this group that might be a chance (ie would need to avg 125+ on the run home)?

The only other players I can think of belong to St Kilda or Geelong (Goddard, Riewoldt, Bartel, Selwood). This probably won't happen with so many other players scoring well and stealing their points, but I guess an injury or two means that a players scoring can skyrocket (eg. Bartel last year).

id say presti ,petrenko, nathan brown ,ash mgrath and tom bellchambers will go very close to the 120 mark
