AFL U/16 by about 35 goals. The under 16 boys are playing AFL in 2 years against men and many having immediate impact. I'd say the women would be more like 14 year old boys.

Different sports, but as a reference an U-15 state team beat the USA women's national team in soccer.

I think even an u14s boys team would take it right up to the AFLW sqaud.

I think generally speaking boys compete at really high levels. Boris Becker won Wimbledon at 17. Nadal beat Carlos Moya at 15. This is top of the world stuff. So yeah 13/14 year old boys = AFLW

Speed and athleticism are key components of footy. A squad of 16 year old boys would be those boys that were fairly mature, and would have many of the attributes of fully grown men, and therefore, have the woman covered in those attributes fairly easily.

Even if the woman were more skilled and played smarter, that isnt going to make up that sort of difference.

Age for age, girls would hold their own, or even come out on top up to 12, and if you excluded the boy/men early maturers, even older.

So, the difference isn't age, its sexual maturity. The woman would thrash a team of prebuscent 14 year olds, but would struggle against a decent post pubescent team of 14 year olds.

In any case, its a stupid comparison to make. The validity of womans footy has nothing to do with how they would go against males, and everything to do with the quality of the footy they play against other women.
