Who's afraid of Rupert Murdoch? The end of an era.

They are doing a better job of challenging the content that has the ability to isolate Morrison from his base & turn away the miners who delivered the 2019 election win.
Governments lose elections requires a bit more understanding than 'Murdoch the excuse'.
“The coalition are better economic managers” is a trope that the majority of australians agree with.

Despite all evidence to the contrary…… and the evidence is piling up so fast you need a fleet of twiggys dump trucks to cart it.

How did we get to this belief?

Osmosis?

Seriously, imagine living in Droopy hendersons shoes......

The most pedantic, miserable KAREN that ever walked this earth

Pinch your nose and say " THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THIS " out loud

Its as old as Labor being the workers party.
A dud is a dud, its not peculiar to either side of politics, but its impossible for some to consider. They vote for duds without a thought, & therein lies the problem.

Ideology is potentially as dangerous a bedfellow in either religion or politics.

Avoiding the issue there.

Theres zero chance of abbott or scummo being prime ministers without the absolute one sidedness of the stokes / murdoch media.

If you believe either Rudd or Turnbull thats true.
I have more faith in the voters beyond the influence suggested, or the ABC for that matter.
The WA landslide is a very good example of people voting. They got it right ;).
Dan is in power for exactly the same reason.
The NQ vote is yet another.

I don't see what a royal commission will realistically achieve. At best, it will probably show how f*cked they act in their endeavour for 'journalism' but i don't think it would have any meaningful long term change.

Even on a global scandal they got found out for hacking the phones of dead people and still survived.

Don't know what the answer is but a royal commission doesn't seem like it will be the silver bullet.

A silver bullet won't be enough; word is that his heir is even worse.

The myopia in Australia’s debate is also extraordinary. Scott Morrison’s project has been to shift the Coalition parties onto a new position and consign the Abbott-Turnbull climate battles to history. While the Nationals should have faced this issue much earlier, net zero at 2050 is one of the toughest decisions they have faced in the post-war period. It was always going to be traumatic.

You still swallowing that bullshit? We signed up for net zero 2050 years ago.

Glasgow is all about 2030.

Glasgow is all about 2030.

'... the medium-term 2030 or 2035 targets. Morrison won’t lift his medium-term ambition. He will merely provide an update that, on current policy, Australia will exceed its 26-28 per cent target, coming in around 34- 35 per cent (showing how deliberately conservative the Abbott government’s initial decision was).

Such caution at 2030 is designed to save Morrison’s political life in the regions at the election – but that will still remain a daunting call. When Labor settles a medium-term target, it is likely to be higher but not too much higher than the Morrison-Joyce position. What is Anthony Albanese’s consistent tactic? Denying Morrison a scare campaign against him.'

'Australia’s debate is topsy-turvy, best symbolised by the realignment from the Business Council of Australia to embrace a 2030 emission-reduction target of 46-50 per cent. The Greens pocketed this win but neither Morrison nor Albanese will go near it.'

......
'The main parties need to pitch to both sides. This is where Morrison had the advantage at the 2019 election, with the Liberal-Nationals Coalition making it easier to send different messages to different constituencies from leafy Melbourne to regional Queensland. It will be more difficult to replicate this at the 2022 poll given the grassroots revolt Clive Palmer and Pauline Hanson will ferment. ......

It is after the announcement that Joyce will face the most exacting test of his political life – having to explain and justify net zero at 2050 to his electoral base, with much of it sceptical or even hostile.

The problem for Glasgow is the sheer chasm between the “now” and the future. Annual capital spending on new energy to meet demand and restructure to cut emissions must more than double. Yet the world is currently trapped in what The Economist calls “the first big energy scare of the green era”.'
