Why are women so shit at AFL when they are sort of ok at some other sports?

I don't get it.

Hockey, Basketball, Golf, Swimming, Athletics and of course Tennis (jury is still out on Serena). These are sports that women can play that sort of gain some level of interest* from the community that proves women can make a contribution to sport (when the mens version isn't on obviously).

I don't understand why the AFL version is so shit? I mean 1-11 v 2-6? ****ing lol

It's only the third year in...it will come.
Plus out of all those team* sports you listed, maybe only Hockey can be compared to.
It shits on AFLX

Reported for misogyny.

It might have something to do with playing with smaller teams, with gimmicky rules that actually hurt their ability to score, in 40 degree heat. Or that this is the players' secondary competition because they're all also playing state league competitions during the year. Or that the preseason is too short so they don't get a chance to gel with their teammates, and learn their playstyles. Or that the players have other jobs and can't focus their entire lives on football.

Shall we just condense this to “they are shit at it” please?

Anyone who says they didn’t enjoy watching Rowdy Ronda Rousey getting kicked in the face is a liar.

The AFL in Round 1 was very entertaining and high scoring, particularly when accounting for the shorter games compared to AFLM

Now i am no Sherlock Holmes, more of John Holmes, but i have noticed the OP starts threads regarding Nat "lushes Locks" Fyfe (NTTAWWT) and now he starts a thread hating women. When i put one and two together i get the OP likes the company of men on a mountain that has a broken back. NTTAWWT.

The standard of womens footy will improve as more players get into the league after having played AFL all their lives. Right now its a lot of players that have just recently shifted from other sports, or only picked up footy again after a few years break. Right now they can't make a living from the game either. That said no it won't ever be the spectacle that males footy is. It will always be a bit of a congested mess because women can't kick as far, handball as far or run as fast. Logically that makes it hard to break through defensive structures and also harder to kick goals from further out so it will end up being low scoring.

Women's sports isn't for everyone. If you cannot deal with seeing athletes that are not at the same standard as their male counterparts then there is probably a very small list of sports for you to watch women play eg gymnastics. Its really up to the individual. For example I watch various womens sports from time to time but don't particularly follow any players or teams in a dedicated way. Some of the sports I would watch on a non regular basis would be tennis, table tennis, womens volleyball (indoor and beach), basketball, swimming, gymnastics and diving. I'd probably tune in a few times a year for each and that suits me just fine.
