Well i am new here and i just want to know why you guys barrack for the greatest football club in the world, and also who your favourite players are.

ok well i have been a melbourne supporter all my life, my dad worked at the club, and my god father played and coached there. (he also coached at the kangaroos, but i dont think about that much ) My family has actually been associated with the club in one way or another since about 1910 so it is kinda in the blood.... so yeah, every winter school holidays my grand parents would take me and my sisters to junction oval to watch training.. i went for the first time in 10 years last summer, and it has changed.


as for my favourite players - well whitey would have to be number one, but neita and Schwarta (gotta luv those ex sunbury boys ) are a close second.

Well my story goes like this... i started being a Melbourne supporter last year (my May the 19th) when Robbo, Woey and Yze came to my school as part of "here for life program" (by the way sorry to whoever heard this story about 300 million times... but the new dude hasn't ).
They were fantastic that day so i decided to start watching a bit of footy and i went to my first match in round 13 last year, which for those of you who don't remember, ended up with a 98 point loss to Carlton. Anyways i still really liked the idea of the whole thing so i stuck with the Dees only to watch them play in a grand final a few months later.
I am now a HUGE melbourne fan.... bit obsessed some might say.... and my favorite player is Russell Robertson.... and those who need to know why he is my favorite player do, the rest of you can just assume i am a teeny bopper.

Dees Rule I had no idea you had only barracked for the Club for such a short time. It does explain a few things. I feel as though I am a lot more frustrated than you about this year and I can see why. I have been through it all before.

As for me, the whole family barracks for Melbourne so I had no choice.
Favourite players would be Robbo, Woey and Whitey and Greeny.

well Melbourne were the team i first followed as a little girl and in my days growing up our faves were Jimmy Stynes, lol and that dude with the funny name....Steven Stretch hehe and that red haired dude Steven Odwyer and we had a Dees player across the road Chris Sullivan. We used to collect all the old footy cards of them and for one of my birthdays ended up with about 5 Melbourne footys! I remember as a little girl my auntie buying me a Melbourne jumper...only thing is it was Fitzroy (she thought it was Melbourne And i had my Demon ruckle and demon wallet lol anyone remember them? Those were the days when merchandise was actually at a reasonable price and the basic things were a guernsey and a beanie maybe not footy toilet paper which they practically have today! Anyway 2 years ago was the first year i took out a Dees membership and was very happy to get into the grand final on only a 60 buck membership. Experiencing a grand final with the team was an unforgetable experience that week, just to be involved.
