Why does everyone hate Melbourne?

It seems to be a theme lately that everyone hates melbourne and feels it necessary to express this here or espicially on the main board,

why is this?

1. Is it because we clearly have a bright future ahead finishing fifth this year whilst managing to blood three future stars in jones, bate, dunn and bartram?
2. Is it because we have the guts to stand by our beliefs and retort on others snide remarks about or our club?
3. Is it because we are seen as the most upperclass supporters? Anyway, what is wrong this, are they jealous?
4. Is it because we have one of the few players in our club who you can say in his first two years, that bloke will win a brownlow?

Any thoughts or additions?
 
Sorry to upset your thread but i have a huge soft spot for you guys, if the Blues can't be up there i'm glad you are :thumbsu:

No offense guys, but I cant see any animousity towards you guys on BigFooty at all. Dont take this the wrong way, but you guys are a bit of a nothing team- people dont mind seeing you do well, but aren't fussed if you dont do anything. I for one dont mind Melbourne at all. You have a long way to go to reach to love/hate status of clubs like Carlton/Essendon/Western Bulldogs, and especially Collingwood.

Not everyone hates us, its mostly just hawks supporters who aren't too keen on us. Everyone else i don't think care either way.
 
I thought everyone hated collingwood?

Melbourne are actually my second favorite team behind the lions,if I lived in melbourne probably be a dees fan for sure.

Unlike collingwood your fans have class as do your players. In fact I didn't even mind when you guys beat bris this year.

Plus you have probably the most likeable coach in the league.
 
People think that every single Demons fan voted to merge, they are jealous of our success, they are jealous of our list and they think that every melbourne fan have Range Rovers, live in Toorak and have our own holiday houses at the snow

not sure why everyone hates you, your threads are comedic gold, particularly the darren jolly thread, N_O is probably a hawthorn fan generating hate towards melbourne by being a complete nob. Except he's banned now thank god. I don't think many people really care about us, quite a few actually do like us, its just hawthorn and st.kilda supporters, not sure why saint kilda don't like us, but hawthorn don't because of the merger, and..... not sure what else. And they say, "Premierships since 1980, Hawthorn 6 melbourne 0" then when we say its 12 premierships to 9 "stop living in the past" etc. Complete bull**** artists who think because they tanked 3 years in a row that they are guaranteed the 2009 flag. Our young players are better than theirs, and we actually win games now
