What a revelation... look how many of you used to be Eagles supporters... shock horror.

It's a nice feeling when your prejudices appear to be confirmed, isn't it? Thanks for doing the same for me.

I hated the Weavils then. Now I just feel sorry for the defectives and maladaptives who trudge lumpenly around, still waving their tired old colours like it's 1994. It's all a bit embarrassing really.

Why I support FREO ...

Why I support Freo

- They are a peoples football club. They mix with the fans at training, have sausage sizzles etc for the kids and supporters can actually get elected to the board unlike the mob next door.
- The supporters are the most passionate in Australia. A lot of Freo supporters became such because they did not like the way that West Coast had been developed. That is they wanted to be part of a football club that embraced the supporters and not make them just feel like spectators.
- There would be about 300,000 + supporters who have moved to Freo as supporters and approximately none that have gone the other way.
- The players embrace the supporters. Witness Andrew Wills a few years back at the WACA, Connolly embracing the crowd, the whole place rocking when Longmuir kicked his goal against Saints.
- The media in Perth is full of ex WC players and supporters and make you sick with their adulation of their underperforming, ex-state side in WC.
- Our players take risks and show personality.
- The players don’t get caught in seedy Northbridge dealings and have it hushed up by the club and eventually the media
- We show spirit in our games even when getting beat (haven’t lost by more than 10 goals since round 14, 2002 – 74 games ago. Longest run in AFL)
- We can win in Melbourne (11 wins in 18 games there)
- The excitement of a Freo win and the feeling it gives you makes a great week. Having 3 years in a row of winning at least half our games means this happens often enough and gives hope of better around the corner.
- I want to be there when we win our first final, our first prelim, our first GF, and our first premiership. We can say that we earned it and we were not handed it on a plate. It will be all the more sweeter for that reason alone.
