does it really matter if he misses the first 1 or 2 games ???

I think it is more the fact that in the past 2 years I have played as many games as him.

suppose he comes back and averages 100 (like Lappin in 07')

suppose is a great word, almost as good as the words "hindsight", "potential" or "maybe". :)

for just 176k, he's gotta be worth the risk... surely

Then buy him. That is what DT is all about, back your judgement and take a risk. Some people say you need to take a risk to win. I don't believe it myself, but each to their own.
EDIT: To Clarify i think at some stages you need to take risks (if you side isn't performing well towards the later end then take risk(s)). At the start of the year i think you would want to put your best foot forward.

Sorry fellas! Having had a sherbet or two I was getting a bit carried away with myself as I like to think I use pretty good English but hey what does it matter as long as we all know what is meant. Cheers

Reasons why i won't be going near him in my starting team
1. He hasn't played since mid 2006
2. He's already had another injury this preseason
3. He hasn't played in any of the NAB games
4. There hasn't been any indication that he will be even considered for round 1
5. I could always get him later on in the season once he has played 2 consecutive good games without injury (if he actually does that)
6. There's enough rookie players looking likely to play round 1 that i don't need to take a punt on a player that at this stage doesn't look like playing any time soon
7. Richmond's midfield comprises of Foley, Richo, Deledio, Cousins, Cotchin, Tuck, Johnson, Jackson, which means, even if he's fit to play who do you take out to give him a spot? And if he gets a spot how many minutes will he play?

Certainly agree with what you have written. He might be handy later down the track as a bench player, if he can stay on the park that is.

***BUMP***

now that he's playing he poses a conundrum

will you look to bring him in?

No, no and definately not.

Well, probably not :p

He didnt run the game out very well so i think he obviously isnt still 100%.

Now begins the time to bring in the premiums not mid pricers.
