Can someone explain why we flicked clayton collard.when he was showing clear signs of progress once he was elevated to VFL seniors...If he had of continued that rate of improvement he may well of been knocking on the door of senior selection by now...seemingly a ready replacement for Browny...His spot has been taken by Gilligan who is on the bench in the thirds...Is that what you call progressing our list:confused:

It was all about attitude Bo. Must have been pretty bad cause the boy could certainly play a bit.

Boy had skinfolds over here.

One of those kids who never came to grips with the idea that there is more to footy than gameday nowadays.

Didnt work hard enough on the track or in the gym. Could certainly play but Harves was looking for blokes fully committed.

skin folds was the reason why Fremantle let him go, apparently at the start of this years preseason with the tigers he came back from the break and had put ON weight. Undisciplined.

He was a bit like me Bo, fat n lazy. hahaha. Agree its a shame, some of today's youth just dont give a shit. I felt same way about Gilmour, kid had a lot of talent just couldnt care less. And now it appears Conners and Hughes , (although I know there are extenuating circumstances with Cleve) are the next highly talented candidates to not come on.

All the prophets angling for sacking 11 players and drafting kids need to realise that the draft is a bloody raffle too, high pick doesnt not automatically mean you will get a result out of a kid. Attitude is everything which is why I have a bit of time for JON, the kid really wants to play.

OK TT, favour time.
I have heard a bit about the above but have no idea what people are nudge nudge wink winking about...

If it's something that can not be spoken about can you PM me please?

Thanks in advance... :thumbsu:

he was brought in as a quick defensive forward
he thought he was a superstar and he didnt care that he had a 2nd chance
nahas has half the ability 50x the work rate and is the better player

If they don`t really give a f..k ... then they don`t really give a f..k

pretty simple equation really .

I have a saying that goes ... "For every bloke who plays AFL footy ... there are 3 who could have"

Making it at AFL level is more about the thing that sits on your shoulders

Drive ... application ... up-bringing ... dedication etc.

huge factors

The general consensus, Roachy, is that Cleve is still struggling after Pollack's accident. How accurate that is, I can't tell you.

so the drafts a raffle what do you propose sit on our hands do nothing or very little. if we dont embrace the draft sytem we might as well close the doors right now and stop wasting everyones time.

11 players is easy especially if you project 3 yrs down the track. or draft with 3 to 5 yrs down the track in mind.

promote nahas and big ranga browne to the list proper theres two players gone right there. if we are smart we will ensure a pick in the top 2 this means a priority pick more than likely. picks 2 18 19 35 51 and 67 nothing dramatic there thats another 6 gone for a total of 8. pick 1 in the psd we take a type that is at least a core type that is needed. thats is 9 gone.we trade into a pick between 20 and 40 that is 10 gone. delist silvestor and add 4 rookies to gilligan and gourdis to make a total of 6. all up including rookies 12 new players. with 11 gone. now if you project 3 or 5 yrs down the track the 10 that have to go from the list proper is easy. but richmond supporters being feral about mediocre and aged types its bound to cause angst.

Definately would have been an attitute problem considering he was delisted by two clubs in two years.

dont know what the recruiting department was thinking, they always get lazy, slow players who lack stamina and motivation. they need to start looking for players they actually need like a big tall kpp or quick fp.

you guys rookied him, yes? if so, i think he was worth a punt. the rookie list is always about finding missed talent, it's a risk. plenty of kids find the motivation when given second chances through the rookie system. with collard, it didn't work out. unfortunate, but at least richmond tried to realise some potential. he wasn't mentally up to it. bad luck, move on.

true but its all about those who steer that ship and how they ignite those attitudes in players with the other stuff that matters, "skill".
Cant help thinking that when you have a player like a Collard, it would not do any harm to give him a good taste of the big time at the G, and let them then see what they are about to miss out on, if they dont get their act together. i.e. development doesnt only mean developing skills etc, it also means developing the mind, and a one-dimensional approach, like keeping him in the 2s and 3s to teach him about attitude, doesnt ****ing work, so try something else that might, fools.
FFS, how much do these muppets get paid to act like they know what they are doing? Change it up when its not working and then when that doesnt work, then you know you exhausted all avenues, not just one. ;)
