The guys from 6pr reckon becuase of Pavlich's inturrpted pre-season he will not have such a good season next year

So therefore 6PR is saying we'll suck next year, forget any optimism you may have. Another year we have failed.

Its better to fix the problem before its aggravated or impairs his movement.

As I understood it, its just the last couple weeks prior to Xmas he is on a modified training program, after Xmas he's back to normal. So unless something has dramatically changed then its a beat up as per normal from Eagles radio.

He may lack a little strength work in both his legs and upper body, but he has a good tank, he'll come good. The great thing with Pav is he is a thinker. It's not 100% physical.

I'd like to see more of this from Justin Longmuir. He demonstrated it against the Demons and really came of age. Even though he was injured and couldn't jump he was still dangerous because he out thought his opponent.

Happened to be at Freo oval yesterday (Fri 9/12) he was doing some conditioning work on the oval. he looks fit to me! Still along way to go before Round 1.

I heard the comments on peeeeeeerah also. The comments re Pav are very wide of the mark.

here's an article on the pavmeister...

http://www.sundaytimes.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,7034,17525560%255E2762,00.html

He's lonely IP! He needs YOU!

He needs a good freo-loving wife, maybe he needs steering down to East Freo for some good Shark breeding stock. Just think of the Pav and some of the famous Shark bloodlines. We'd be breeding AA father\sons for generations!! :D

Seriously tho, that article was abit more pessimistic than I read on the Freo site, but better its fixed than left to be aggravated.

A fit Pav is whats needed, but what it does highlight is Freo needs to stand up individually and take some pressure off the guy.

If he starts doing full training early in the new year he will only have 6 or 7 weeks pre-season prior to the start of the NAB cup. We may see more of Pav playing from the goal square in 2006 because he won't have the miles in his legs to play the mobile CHF role, which is fine aslong as we have another marking target leading up the ground. If we get 60+ goals from him again next season I'll be happy.

Another way of looking at it is by thinking of the whole season. I regularly see players burst their guts through pre season and into the regular season and by about round 15, alot of them are starting to show signs of burning out. Pav will build his input up as the season goes on as he will be "fresher" at the business end of the season.

Better to fix an injury now than in July.

Some players will just have to play like a "team" and support Pav through the early games, I mean it's about time the load was evenly shared. Attention :- Medhurst, Headland, Baby Carr etc.

I don't think it'll affect him too much, it's still a fair way off till the start of the season and either way, an 80% fit Pavlich is still miles ahead of every other poor mortal in the competition! :)
