Depends how he thinks his body will hold up. I'd hate for him to continue on and then look like he is labouring through the season. If he can continue to the standard of 2012, why not? If he retires, he has done the club proud. Helped us to 2 Premierships, lasted 301 games and been a tough and fair competitor the entire journey.

It'd be sad to see him go, but it'd be great to see him go out on the top. Leaving after getting to 300, and winning the Premiership as your last game is pretty good.

As much as he's a great player, we need to get some more games into our young'uns. Not many got a run this year because we had few injuries, and everyone was playing well. As much as it would suck for him to go, we need a spot so some other guys can get a game.

Even if the fire still burns, the question has to be asked if his body is still capable of going around again.

Sentimentality aside, I can't help but think back to Craig Bolton - we kept him on the list in 2011 but he wasn't able to get going through preseason and we started the season a man down. Jude ended the year injured - missing games or not playing at 100%. I don't want to be in the Craig Bolton position again, which does mean that a decision has to be made very shortly by both Jude and the club as to whether we can be confident in him being able to play out 2013. It looks like the club are happy if Jude is happy, which suggests that they are either already confident that he can or are confident that Jude will do the right thing if he doesn't think he is up to it.

I wrote in the Tippett thread that there are a number of good reasons for him to go now, both personal reasons for him and his own career, as well as in the interests of the club going forward. He has reached 300 games, he has got a second premiership, we have his replacement ready to step up to be a regular starter in the 22 (Parker), we have a fairly major transfer target in mind that would address the only real deficiency in the squad... which I think makes me lean towards feeling that this is the right time for Jude to hang up the boots. Would love to have him staying at the club in a coaching role.

I trust judes judgement, i think he is also more versatile than craig bolton was probably has more roles he can fill. A small contract wont hurt too much especially with 100k on the vets list

I think he should go out on top.Given the amount of players we have nearing the same stage from a team management POV,moving ahead,it makes sense that one goes now(esp. if it is in the back of his mind) rather than 2 maybe 3 this time next year.
Happy for him to go now

He's getting well paid for something he obviously enjoys doing.

Unless he feels his body can't hold up or the club tells him he might be seeing a fair bit of Canberra next year I can't see any reason why he wouldn't go on.

As much as I love Jude I think it's the best possible time for him to go, but keep around the club as a whatever, give him a job in development. He has been slowing down apart from the odd breakout game this year and with his knee injury, well, it might just be time. We've also got Parker and Mitchell queuing up for his spot and if hey don't get a gig might decide to go elsewhere
