So Minson oversteps the line sometimes with his comments... Maybe he should also be on bigfooty? Would the people complaining have also banned monkhurst all those years ago for his comments to Michael Long? And for that matter all the mongrel comments previous pies players, officials and supporters have made over the journey?

I can't say I've seen Monkhurst play but I get the impression he was actually good.

What does his alleged flogness have to do with whether or not you think a VFL player would be a better choice?

He was close though. Only had a couple of years left in him. He was best available to take us to the next level in the short term. Malthouse wasn't thinking long term though. Fortunately we won a flag and the jolly recruitment was therefore seen to be a success.

I agree we shouldn't let personality traits be a major consideration and that recruiting Minson will fit a need for us. But I also agree with Apex that sledging someone about their young child having a life threatening illness is beyond the limit. This sort of thing can never be justified by being "competitive". If you have to resort to that sort of a thing as a player then you aren't much of a player are you'd be well advised to find a new career. Players get suspensions and fines for racial abuse.. are you saying racial abuse is ok as far as you're concerned? If not, how is this not as bad, if not worse?
