In brief, she was an even first, very limp wristed sekkund which saw us five or so down at the long one; a spirited third; and a great start to the fourth, hit the front and then fugged it up! Lost by two goals, with another goal kicked after the honker. Guess Filth 106 to Willi 94.

Best footy oval in Australia on a day like today. Beuatiful stuff!

Player review:

1. Leon: Was very good. Probably the best of the CFC listed players. Provided pace and worked hard when the ball was spilled, which was very often, as it was a poor standard of footy. Will forever have physicallity issues and whilst he has AFL attributes, his level is unfortunately a smidge above VFL. Still, we'll welcome him back next week after this solid performance.

3. Lonie: I can't believe he's not butter! Soft was a word I didn't really appreciate until I saw him today. Disinterested is probably a better word. Worked his way into the game a bit towards the end, but gee willikers, you gotta have a dip. Flat footed and unwilling to go and get the footy.

6. Willo: This guy is actually a joke among Williamstown supporters. Managed to spacticise pretty much everything. Still, he has a knack of being able to kick a couple of goals. His pathetic attempt at mark or spoil (or lack thereof) saw the ball pumped into the Port goal square for a good mark and goal. Hopeless!

28. Ruz: Instant fan! I won't overhype his game, because he wasn't overly involved in it. What I will hype is that the attributes required to be an AFL player is very much in him. He's not lightening off the mark, but when he's going, he gets the break he needs and his hands are like flypaper! Sticks everything and is borderline the only guy out there who you would have had confidence kicking to, apart from Dukes, who was Willi's best player IMO. Kicked 2 or 3 goals I think, and one attrocious OOF (good old fashioned duff!). One mark on the wing at full pace was Tarrant-esque (although he's Willo-easue height wise) and he had the footy smarts to offload by hand in the same action at full throttle. Is footy smart as well as athletically gifted. He made dozens of leads. Some were leading backwards into space, and given that the players couldn't kick over a jam jar, they were futile. We have a player in this guy anyway and that's all that matters!

29. Maddee: Was good today in a scrappy VFL kinda way. At least he fought for the ball, when some Willi players were modeling their game on the Magpies of last week! Still stuffs it up far too often, which at half back means an automatic inside 50 to the oppo. OK.

30. King Plod: A VFL battler. Shouldn't be on an AFL list. Fairly inconspicuos, but fought fairly hard. Kicked a goal, maybe two.

31. Billy: He's not up to it. Played in defence against their #35, who is quite tall, athletic and quick. You can imagine the result. Played forward in the sekkund when there was no ball inside our 50. Then amazingly was thrown into the ruck for the third and fourth quarters. He's 6' 3 or 4" FFS! I'd have preferred to have seen him given a run in the forward line when we were actually winning the footy, but I dun see any light at the end of the tunnel. The CFC and Colin weren't the only one's to think he'd be good. Most people did. I dunno what happened, or how such a mass error in judgement eventuated, but it appears that it has.

34. J-Clo: A bit like Maddee, in that he was good relative to VFL. His trademark spoil is the best in the land. Bar none! Put dents in the fences. Shame that doesn't guarantee an AFL player. Still kicks poorly and makes dumb decisions. Still, he was OK.

38. Yakka: Good little player this bloke. Let's not beat around the bush, Willi got flogged in the midfield all day. Propper flogged! But Yakka fights like a pit bull for the ball and uses it mostly well. He went from inconspicuous to stand-out when the game was there to be won. Was in everything and generally got favourable results. Was instrumental in the comeback. In relation to his pace, he's no plodder and he's no speedster, but one of the negatives about the plodder is that they fail to get to and compete effectively in contests. In this regard, there is no concern.

I bloody left out the H's!!

39. Heaff: Played in defence. Did OK in regards to spoils. Was against their #3 who was quite a good player, and he did fairly well. Still nuffin to suggest he's anything more than a VFL player IMO.

40. Hally: Unlike Billy, there's something there to work with in Brent. He's still a bit tentative when it comes to certain stuff. I stand by the fact that I reckon he's exceptional below his knees for a big fella. Still has to learn heaps about the game. Got a mark 40 out when we were about a goal up. Went accross the ground instead of having a shot which was dropped and rebounded. Then got a sukkund chance and took the longest run up in the history of run ups and he kicked it about half the length of the run up. Still, there's something to work with.

43. Harry: Fights OK. Has a bit of pace. But like most uvvas, it's impossible to even imagine him playing at the top level. Copped a gash to the noggen late on.

oops....didn't refresh earlier upon reading your great post Figjam !!

So Davidson obviously spent a 2nd week in the 2's...hope he got thru unscathed !!

Rusling is a very promising type....I thought he was worth selection after the schmozzle on Anzac Day !

I'll just add that Rusling looks ok , but needs to keep presenting - no matter how big a ******* is kicking it to him.
Yakka looks a competent inside mid.
If Lonie doesn't start attacking contests , using his run and actually start looking mildly interested in the game he'll be ********ed off quick smart.
Williams is embarrassing at VFL level.
J-Clo is an ordinary VFL defender.
Lokan looks OK at this level , has better footskills tham most of the Willi players - also seems to enjoy sledging aswell.
Heath Shaw does some nice things at times but really doesn't impose himself enough to earn a senior call-up.
Leon was good , he drifts in and out.
King can find ball but can't use it , he seems to fancy himself as a linebreaker at VFL level he never quite succeeds at it though.
Hall got molested in the first half , then cameback and took a couple of great marks in the last quarter only to do something stupid or imcompetent with the ball.
Morrison- A grade dud.
Harry O'Brien is a big 186 , a quick and creative player off half-back who seems to spark Williamstown.

And you are a ********ing idiot

Very ordinary, what is it now? In each of his last 3 VFL games he has been the best Collingwood listed player, and also in 1 of his 2 AFL games. He must be pretty ********

Get the chip off your shoulder and open the other eye

No that would be you. Go away.

Yeah indeed, how dare I want to improve our list, we should just finish 9-14th and get more Nixons, Shackletons, Roach's and Morrisons instead of a Judd, Cooney, Riewoldt.

How stupid of me to want the best youngsters and best uncontracted player available

Taken from the North board
Well it was an interesting game today with Port finally getting up by 12 points. It was a 34 point lead at half time to Port (69 - 35) by Willy kept fighting back and reduced it to 7 points before a lte Port goal left it at 13 points at 3/4 time. Port got the first goal and led by 19 points but then Willy came hard (that sounds promising ) and kicked 5 of the next 6 goals to lead by 2 points with a few minutes to go. 2 consecutive points and the scores were level. Enter Mr Pitt and a great contested mark in the goal square followed by a goal and it was back to 6 points. Pitt took another mark with the ball 30 meters out and the siren went. He slotted it through after the bell and it was a 12 points win (106 - 94).

I saw Corey leave the ground at 3/4 time with his arm is in a sling but did not appear to be in too much pain. I'm guessing an AC joint. Thelewis though was taken off the ground on a stretcher and appears to have done the knee as the trainers were holding it at 45 degrees as he was carried off.

No Steve Lawrence for Port today. Of the North players I watched 3/4 of the game in our forward line and the third quarter from the defensive end. Shannon Watt was being pushed off the ball by the Willy forward (number 23) and outsmarted as well. I have been a Watt fan but if he gets a game next week I will be shocked as he was ordinary today. Watto actually played in the ruck for the last quarted and was reasonable around the ground. Hamish was buggered by rucking most of the game and did a little in the last quarter. I believe LeCras was the best for us at CHF by a long way. Cloke gave him far too much rope and got slaughtered by Bruno who must have kicked 4 or 5 goals and set up a few others. Piccioane was good early in the game but faded in the 2nd half. SHarvey was Ok in the forward line but he does run forward of the pack and hopes that the ball comes his way but he does it well. He is the type that gets 8 touches but the usually result in a shot on goal.
Urch, Perry played back and were OK. I did not see much of Urchy in the first half and he had the most run towards the end of the game. Baird also played nad was OK. Did not do enough for a senior recall though. Willy had a number of Collingwood players in the side today including Davis, Lokan, Lonie, Williams, Cloke and a couple of others. A good standard of game but the gameplan at Port is nothing like the one we are playing at North
Jason also made a couple of crucial errors late in the last quarter , mostly to do with poor judgement of the flight of the ball.

Go support another team/sport/nationality/religion/cult.

We don't want you here and I think you will be hard pressed to find someone that does.

We all know that it is advantageous to finish lower es. We're not ignorant. Fact is we will be in the mix for a gun this year by default.

To actively promote tanking however, is Un-Collingwood. As such, your club description is irritating to those of us with pride.
