Which Cloke was BOG? Id be guessing Jason because Cam has that shoulder
Rowe is obviously knocking on all doors for selection, should get a call up soon enough.
How was Maxwell? Did he play?

Rowe and J. Cloke seem to be pushing hard for senior selection. Cloke seems the obvious person to take Wakelin's spot next week vs. the dawks.

Yes it was Jason BOG, again, should have the Willy B&F wrapped up by now :p

Didnt see the game, but as you can see he got in the best

Then again, they probably have to pick 6 players each week and there aint any competition at Bendigo ;) :p

The Bendigo listed players are poo which is pretty much why Bendigo have struggled to win a game.

Went to Windy Hill today too catch the second half and it bloody well did not stop raining, basically as soon as i got there.I think i saw maybey one or two goals in a half of footy.
So damn dark , could not give an accurate assessment in the half i saw which is frightening. JClo stood out and for me Davis. I didnt have my googles on so i did not make out much more.

Cloke was best , Rowe was pretty good , Davis was OK.
Handy win when we didn't play well.
O'Brien was there in casual clothes but didn't play , is he injured or are they keeping him fresh with 5 days between games.

Good to see Jason Cloke once again the best for Willy. Too bad Mick hates him. Like, Jason was IMHO, in our best 5 players last week, yet he gets dropped (I guess Presti was coming back, so meh) but with Maxwell, who is in our best 22, back, then Jason may miss out yet again, and will surely stretch the lead he has in the Liston trophy even further. Then again, Nick Maxwell will prob spend another week in the twos to regain match fitness and have to push for selection I guess.

Maxwell is back but I'd like him to be put back in the Collingwood side because he is knocking at the door with good form at Willi. IMO Rusling wasn't ready when he came back a couple of weeks ago and hadn't shown good form.

J. Clo should be in and lets let Maxy get some form before promoting him.

Hates him?? come on lonie . Fact is Jason has been given many opportunities and still struggles to find a role. How many winning sides has jason played in over the last 2 years?? It seems every time he plays we lose . I think we look a little top heavy when he plays. He was ok last week but I don't think he was in our top 5. As i have said time and time again Jason gives his all which is why he is so good at vfl level but just too slow, too short and not enough skill to play at the highest level week in week out. I seriously doubt Mick has a problem with Jason.

2006 - played 3, record 0-3. (Collingwood 10-3 without him)
2005 - played 8, record 0-8. (Collingwood 4-1-11 without him)
2004 - played 18, record 7-11. (Collingwood 1-3 without him)
2003 - played 20, record 13-7. (Collingwood 4-1 without him)
2002 - played 23, record 15-8. (Collingwood were 0-2 without him, including the GF)

He's currently on a 13 game losing streak! The last two matches he played in 04, plus all of 05 and all of 06 (to date).

Anyways, look at the club "without him" as well. This year is the first year since 03 we have been in positive when he's not played. Aren't statistics great!

Ant 22,

You must be joking. J.Cloke has played 3 games this year. Played on the wing against Adelaide opposed to Burton, CHF/Ruck against West Coast and on Pavlich against Fremantle.

I find it amazing that MM can keep selecting blokes like Morrison and select Rusling whose form was ordinary for Williamstown.

Why not play J Cloke and give him a fair dinkum opportunity against one of the lower teams to give him some confidence.

I have followed Williamstown for a long time and I can say without hesitation J Cloke has been our best player by a mile.

I hope if MM does not give him a go that he will be traded and will show MM the player he really is.

We all know there is no love ant between Mick and J.Clo after the 2003 GF. What I want to know is what is the use of having Willy as an affiliate club, or any for that. Jason Cloke has been outstanding this year, and Mick never once looked at him and rewarded him. He rewarded Fanning after 1 good game after 13 crap ones. Jason on fire and doesn't get rewarded.

Cloke has only been selected ONCE this season. He has played 3 games, twice happened due to a Late Change. He has been emergency 9 times. 6 of those times he played VFL football. The next man is ben Davies, who has been emergency 7 times, 2 less, but he played VFL in those weeks only twice. What I am saying there is, J Cloke might be named emergency, but he plays VFL the same time, so he isn't going to be picked. Davies on the other hand doesn't play for Willy and is kept fresh.

RE: O'Brien it says on here ....

"....Tristen Walker, Scott Meyer and Harry O’Brien missed through injury and illness...."

I can't find anything to suggest Harry is injury so maybe the 'illness' relates to him. Maybe the flu?? Fingers crossed that's the case.

Jason deserves a return against The Dorks......or my own little favourite "PoorForm!". Geez my hawker mates hate that one. :D

If Malthouse hated Jason cloke because of the 2003 GF do you really think he would still be on our list after the poor season he had last year?he may hate him but I am not sure how you can quote this as gospel without being at the clib?? Malthouse could have easily got rid of him but gave him another chance. It amazes me how many people on this site seem to know exactly what`a relationship is like between a player and coach . Are you in the inner sanctum??

As for opportunities, correct me if I am wrong but isn't this jason's 5th season?? Fannings second(3rd if you include 1st year on the rookie list) and Davies 2nd.So Jason has had enough time to establish themselves. Collingwood now know exactly what they have with jason , the other 2 are a bit unknown still. Fanning is a ruckman . Malthaouse obviously felt Fraser needed a rest from rucking all day and Fanning was the only option with Richards injured of late and also badly out of form. Certainly no arguments from me on this one, you?.
Davies is a midefielder who needs work but shows some promise. as our midfield has struggled with form and injuries he has been kept in ice because he has consistanly been the next best option outside those getting a regular gig.

Cloke can only play as a backman in my opinion and at the moment Clement, Presti, Wakelin and Maxwell are all preffered options and I personally believe there is only room for 3 of these against most sides let alone 4. When we have gone in with 4 tallish backman we have looked top heavy. Would you play Cloke ahead of any of these 4 assuming all are fit to play.

Jason got picked in the first game and got found out big time even though he was in tip top condition. His second game was also average, his 3rd was respectable but in no way did he stand out.

I admire anyone who gets the best out of themselves and I think Jason is in this class, but I am a realist and every way I look at it I struggle to find a spot for him unless 2 injuries happen to 2 of the 4 players I mentioned.

Can you tell me how you plan on getting him in our best 22 without upsetting the balance of the side??

You can't simply play a player because he is in good form. Surely if there is no one in the current senior team that deserves to be dropped, or there is no match up because other players are a 'better' option then what is the use of playing him just for the sake of playing him!!!

He doesn't really play on big strong forwards because we have Presti and Wakelin as our number one and two options for big men. Clement can even play on a taller bigger opponent and is prefered over cloke for obvious reasons. Maxwell was in great form prior to his fractured leg who is also a medium tall, that is already 4 defenders that are of medium height or more that play ahead of J.Cloke. The other is O'brien who also played ahead of Cloke at the start of the season.

My point is you can't simply play him because he is in good form at VFL level when there is no clear player who shouldn't be playing in his position at AFL level.
