Isn't this Azarenka lass supposed to be top 10? Is the women's game really this bad? Didn't realise things were quite this dire

Serena isnt giving her much of a chance atm, not much azarenka can do when serena serves bombs and pounds winners like she is doing. Has to hope she goes a little off the boil and picks up her game slightly otherwise it will get messy.

Class from Aza to not give up. That was all about Serena dropping 4 gears, which both sisters used to do a lot. Been ridiculously focused so far throughout.

What an uneventful night of tennis, to be expected though.

Just play the Venus v Serena final already; everyone knows that’s how it will pan out.

I didn’t think Azarenka was all that bad tonight, Serena was just amazing. 13 winners, 1 UE in the 1st set are you kidding me? Not sure about the second but I’d say she comfortably had more winners than errors once again. Those last 3 games were just faultless, even Azarenka knew there was nothing she could so.

Grass is Azarenka’s worst surface and she did start to weaken as the tournament progressed. First two matches great, pretty good against Cirstea, very ordinary against Petrova. Today she needed to be playing her best tennis and while she played okay, it wasn’t to the standard that was needed. She’ll get a Slam but not for a little while yet. She needs to add a little more variation to her game and until she does the Williams sisters will always be the ones to send her packing deep in the tournament. Big future but not quite there yet.

What the heck? Do you have no comprehension of just how good Serena is and just how ridiculously well she played today?

When the Williams sisters play to their peak there is no one that can stop them, as proved today.

Karlovic/Fed - Fed in 3(7-6 7-6 7-6)
Murray/JCF - Murray in 3(6-4-6-3 6-1)
Haas/Djokovic - Djokovic in 4 (5-7 6-3 6-3 6-3)
Hewitt/Roddick - Hewitt in 5 (7-5 5-7 4-6 6-3 6-4)

Fed in 4 (Karlovic is serving too well to not get a set)
Djoko in 4 (he has picked up his game)
Murray in 3 (although wawarinka took him to 5)
Roddick in 4 (again, it will come to a couple of tiebreaks here and there, be too togh i think)

Well this is going to be an absolutely ripper night. Cracking matches, I reckon Haas can give the Joker a big fright tonight. JCF returns but I can't really see him beating Murray but great effort to get to the quarters. It's great to see so many old guns back in the 2nd week of a grand slam.

My predictions:

Federer in 3
Joker in 4
Murray in 4
Hewitt in 5

Yeah. Absolutely loved him when he was in his prime. After being in the wilderness for a few years it's good to see him back playing good tennis:thumbsu:

What games will Fox be showing? Since they cant show Centre Court and 9 will be showing Lleyton will Fox only be showing Haas - Djokovic?

Federer in 3: Ivo is Feds bitch and he knows it. He will choke when serving to stay in the set or in TBs.

Djokovic in 4: Haas tends to choke in grand slams when hes against a decent opponent. Djokovic was horrible in Halle and still managed to bring it to 3.

Murray in 3: From all the matches of Ferrero ive seen, hes just been really consistent which works well against erratic players like Gonzalez and Simon. Murray beats these kinds of players easily because he knows what he can expect.

Hewitt in 4: He did have a massive H2H record against Roddick in his prime, but hasnt been close to that form since. Im less confident in this pick and would have to say im massively biased, so cmon Hewitt!

Hopefully Djokovic sweeps aside Haas quick smart, but seeing as this is Novak, he'll be pushed to 5. Im going with Roddick in 4, with Lleyton picking up the first set.

Anyway hopefully Novak sweeps aside Hass quick smart, but seeing as this Djokovic we're talking about, he'll be pushed into an epic 5 setter.
Roddick in 4, with Lleyton winning the first set.

Somethings really wrong with this thread. It keeps coming up with errors and stuff.

I think someone should start Wimbledon Part 2.
