2018:
With Ryder full game: 7 wins – 3 losses – 70% win ratio
With Ryder limited TOG* or not playing: 5 wins – 6 losses – 45%

- We were 11-4 when Ryder went down against Freo, now 12-9

2017:
With Ryder full game: 14 wins – 7 losses – 66%
With Ryder limited TOG* or not playing: 0 wins – 1 loss – 0%

- Finished 5th. Giants beat a Ryderless Port with +19 clearances to take our spot in the top 4.

2016:
With Ryder not playing: 10 wins – 12 losses – 45%

Total:
With Ryder full game: 31 games @ 67% win ratio
With Ryder limited TOG* or not playing: 34 games @ 44% win ratio

*limited TOG = under 60% TOG. Today v Collingwood counted as full game.

Basic list management could have got us 5 more wins over 3 seasons to finish top 8 in 2016, top 4 in 2017 and top 4 for 2018.

PORT Adelaide big man Paddy Ryder has put up his hand to cover the loss of injured key forward Charlie Dixon in a revamped Power forward line.

While Dixon is still hoping to return in round one from a broken leg and high ankle sprain, it's more likely he will miss the start of the season, with his recovery taking longer than expected.

Ryder will play predominantly up forward this year for the Power with the addition of West Coast premiership-winning ruckman Scott Lycett.

Ryder kicked a couple of goals in the Power's intraclub game last week as part of a new-look attacking structure.

I like this A LOT!!. Lycett can do the job in ruck until Dixon is fit., as along as we can break even most weeks in the ruck contests it'll be okay.

How did it look with Ebo and Ryder up forward? Both can take a grab contested
Ebert kicked a few goals and Ryder was the main target and drew in several players trying to spoil him. Marshall kicked a couple because of this and I'm sure when Dixon is in there it will be even better for him.

I think Ryder will take the majority of the centre bounces but outside that probably rucking at stoppages inside forward 50.

Everything else - mostly Lycett.

We have to temper our expectations of Lycett though, he's not a great ruckman. His strengths are negating his opponent and contributing clearances, kind of like the role we had Jackson Trengove play in Ryder's absence, only should be better at it.

The additional options it gives the team is a massive improvement though!
