I'm not surprised by his form though really.. when you've been told you're being crafted into a permanent mid and then those plans thrown out and the next year you're sitting deep playing > 70% gametime in a cluster **** of a forward line it's not surprising his form has dropped. Blame Ken and Voss for this. Why the **** is Voss even still here?

Bigfooty: can’t wait for him to fill out a bit

*chad puts on size*

Also Bigfooty: he looks puffy

I don’t think he’s unfit. Although injuries could play a part. I reckon he’s a bit down on confidence. The coaches need to just let chad be chad

It's BigFooty - we are never happy, part of the conditions signing up.

I want this Chad back, 4 years ago already! The crowds reaction when he "sold foot candy" to 2 hawks players jeez!

Has Chad peaked at 22 years of age with his 2nd AA season in 2015? His last 2.5 seasons say that's the case so far.

Trying to think who else that might have happened to. Wangers got his 3rd AA when he was 22 in 1995 and then his next one 6 years later but I dont think anyone could say Wangers struggled in those 6 seasons when he was injury free. Wangers did miss about 25 games with injuries at Port between 1997 and 2000, especially 2000 where he only played about 10 games.

I dont know if Chad has carred a lot of injuries post 2015 into games. He did struggle in 2016 after he got concussed in one game and finished missing 2 or 3 games with an injury at the end of the season. He has played 18 off 22 games in 2016, 19 of 23 in 2017 and 9 of 10 in 2014.

Yeah he seems to be avoiding those movements and long kicks. Remember a few weeks ago when he miraculously came back from a hamstring injury in 1 week even though thats historically always been a min of 2 weeks? Also remember how he missed our on most of our pre-season with injuries?

He is clearly not 100% and avoiding certain movements.
Yep, he's playing like someone who is not 100% confident in his body at the moment. I noticed a couple of instances in the Hawthorn game where it looked like he was worried what might happen if he went flat out.

I really hope this is a strength and conditioning coach/physio's call on whether Chad is fit to play, not Chad calling the shots.

I'm sure it would be hard for Chad, with the injuries he's had over the past couple seasons, to potentially miss more game time. But IF the coaching staff are noticing Chad hesitate to either take off at pace, kick from a distance etc, surely they would discuss the options going forward.

I'd rather Chad take the appropriate time off and get himself right, over having Chad playing every week and not impacting games/pulling his weight.

Not sure if it was Janus or Feel that said it, but it looks like he has put on mass that would allow him to roll through the midfield and not get pushed off the ball. Problem is, it all happened in a single pre-season (listed as 81kg 2017 to 85kg in 2018) and his body is struggling to catch up. Its why that side step isnt there, its why that leap isnt there. He isnt fat, nor unfit, his body just needs to adjust to the extra weight he now is pulling.

He will come good, he is too good not to. It will, however, take either him to drop the mass or another pre-season for his body to catch up IMO
