beat me to it... sorry the cricket got me lol

GO Catters

All good - I had also been watching the cricket when I checked what was happening with the rookie draft and saw it was all over

All I know of Nick is that he's a Northern Bullants player

The club seem to be as surprised as anyone, as they're taking their sweet time getting a post out.

From what I've been able to find he can play inside and out. And loves breaking away from a contest with speed.

Again falling into line with the type of player the coaches asked for.

A highlight would be nice
If you check out the video package on the AFL site that summarises today's drafting action, there is one highlight. Discussion and footage of Driscoll kicks in at 18:10.

Wish him all the best, of course. But the one moment they've captured is definitely nothing to write home about.

Stephen Wells has been quoted as saying that they will recruit for list balance, rather than best player. Clearly we are a ranga or two short, so Nick fits the bill

I see what we've done as trying to turn the VFL side into a carbon copy of the AFL side, which suits how we treat it more as a development pathway than a true competition.

Hunter is Max (naturally), Barker will be the Dempsey equivalent in time, Stevens will play the Worpel role, Molier is what Neale was three years ago, Edwards and Blicavs, Hofmann somewhere between Zuthrie and Mullin (speed wise) etc etc.

I don't mind it. While we've got speed to burn in the AFL side, our VFL midfield was pretty one-paced with Stevens, Knevitt, and Clohesy mainly taking the minutes.

It made it harder for us to try to play the exact same way between the two competitions. The talent and attribute gap across the squads is just too big.

With the guys we've added/delisted, plus some more gametime from Hofmann, Molier, and Burke, we should be able to amend that next year if nothing else.

I wonder if cillian Burke will make it. Has huge raw upside from what I saw, but doesn’t know how to really play footy. Doesn’t seem to have come on as natural the game to him as some other Irish

I doubt he will, but in fairness, all of the Irish boys look clueless until at least their second year - and that's usually late in their second year too.

I said it when we picked him that I won't judge him until June of year two, and I might have to amend that even further with the injuries he's had.

It's just such a huge jump, but the physical attributes are there. How much can we teach him is the question.

If he has all those qualities who knows if he can develop them to the highest level, they must think he's a chance!

Anyone find any game-day footage of Driscoll? Played a few games for the Northern Bullants?
