“I have been on the NSW scholarship list since I was 15 (and in) March, I officially moved down and played in the nationals for New South Wales."

Witts trained and worked out with the Magpie team while living in Melbourne. He made his VFL debut and played several matches under Tarkyn Lockyer when the national competition finished.

“I was lucky enough to play a couple of VFL games towards the end of the season which gave me a good idea of what I was in for.”

Since Witts signed with the Magpies four years ago, he has continued growing and now stands two centimetres shorter than Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands, the tallest player in the league.

“I think I was 197 (centimetres) and now I am about 209.

Good to see he's not getting carried away in the hype.:p

Seems like a good, level headed kid though, will fit in quite well, hopefully we see him in at least one NAB Cup match.:thumbsu:

Good on him:thumbsu:...Seemed to be a bit overawed with the attention,He will get used to it:cool:

Would hate to be the one paying to feed him:eek:

Needs some confidence like Fasolo, didn't really sound adament he was gunning for a senior spot like Fas was last year

If we gave Mcnamara a nab cup game Witts will get a few, Jolly shouldnt play any except the last one. Judging by his VFL form last year he'll get quiet a few AFL games

Disagree. I like his understated manner. He's not getting ahead of himself, he knows he has a lot of work to do.

And who is the only bloke who played in their first year at the club in the last 2 years?

I think this is moer due to the fact we enter the draft around the 45+ stage in the last few drafts.. and they havnt been great drafts at that.

Sorry, Young our 104th pick NSW got a game too.

Anyway, to an extent I liked his answers, but I liked Fasolo's more when he said "I want to play one game this year, then another after that if I can"... He then played in a GF.

I wonder if Presti said that when he started? I somehow doubt it, super confidence is great but its not the only path to greatness. So long as you work hard on and off the park and play for your mates and the team you have a good shot.

Ball?

Jolly?

I see your point but putting a two year constraint around that in 2 years when we've played in 2 grand finals is pretty ridiculous. The competition for a spot is pretty damn hot and attitude is only one small factor.

if self confidence was all it took, Shae would have played every game this year and won the premiership single handed.
