“I have been on the NSW scholarship list since I was 15 (and in) March, I officially moved down and played in the nationals for New South Wales."
Witts trained and worked out with the Magpie team while living in Melbourne. He made his VFL debut and played several matches under Tarkyn Lockyer when the national competition finished.
“I was lucky enough to play a couple of VFL games towards the end of the season which gave me a good idea of what I was in for.”
Since Witts signed with the Magpies four years ago, he has continued growing and now stands two centimetres shorter than Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands, the tallest player in the league.
“I think I was 197 (centimetres) and now I am about 209.
