Women's Team

People scoff, but some of these women are seriously talented. My footy team partially trains with the club's women's team and there are a few that have skills just as good as the men.

The obvious issue is whether there's a talent pool big enough to have a sustainable competition. My tip is there'll be a lot of blowouts.
There's plenty of blowouts in the AFL anyway, and if the talent is spread well enough then it will minimize it as much as possible.

It would be good but not at a cost to the club IMO.

If it gets up. AFL will fund our team if we hold out. Womens league incomplete without a Tiger team....

Maybe your team has shit skills ?

Would purely be an angle to further market the RFC with a broader appeal to a wider audience. No it may not directly impact our senior side, however it would ensure that our club continues to grow at above market pace rather than slip into oblivion like what currently threatens the bombers and blooze
I reckon we go for it

Good to see a women's league, but it is going to be a money pit.
AFL needs to support the concept and develop the game.

Apologies to women who read this thread. You deserve a league. Ignore the neanderthals that have written in poor taste, they do not represent the Richmond image and they can gagf and support norf and be minnows with minnows as they are in society.
The money being invested in this concept at the expense of other areas is ridiculous .
Investment into ladies football when Auskick numbers are in a decline and cost to families rose by 15% in 2015 , it doesn't make sense .
Yes ladies football may have a place but most certainly not at the rate they are projecting .

Have to agree. You can't just pump money into a venture like this without addressing the crux of the participation issue at the grassroots level.
