With Morrison or Hall ( :( ) going to have to play CHB for 1/2 the season and our new center man/rover out for the season facts are our chances in 2005 have been sliced.

Any hope of finals would be neally gone while bottem 4 is looking a very likly outcome.

On a personal note I like boht Rodan and Schultz and hope both the lads can return 100%. :)

However, there is a shining light that no matter how we go this season, makes me smile :)

Tough breaks for Schultz and Rodan but i hardly think its the difference between finals and a wooden spoon.

You dont?

Schultz was earn marked as our CHB this season. Without strong KPP stock, unless Bowden can fill that role the job will be passed over to either Morrison or Hall for about 1/2 the season. This leaves me not confident what so ever...

Rodan has been near our best in training and looked for a steller '05. These 2 were going to be vital cogs this season and for the future (hopfully long term they still will be).

I beleive the loss of these blokes, with such a immature side will have a large effect.

schulz possibly would have ben smashed up against the treadrea's etc and training is a lot different to games doubt that rodan and schulz make the difference between us winning , hopefully gas, a.k, grham, hall or bowden whoever is at chb can do reasonably well. anywhere from 6- to 13th and id be happy with our season

also does anyone reckon simmonds could be used as a CHB? Staff in the fwd line, knobel ruck and perhaps simmonds at chb for a game or 2? or is he too slow?

sorry mate but a bottom 4 finish was/is always on the card.....

these 2 players while might have improved this year, its the more senior players that need to step up and start playing with a bit of pride.....

Of course, I never thought any otherwise.

Point was the lose of these 2 players makes the situation far worse.

I don't see much difference between having Schulz, Hall or Morrison playing CHB wrt how many games we will win. It's a shame that Schulz will miss a lot of games there and see if he is any good at it. I was hoping for a Scott Turner - like improvement from forward to backman.

We'll probably get by with Bowden at CHB against the smaller CHFs. Against the big guys we are gonna get smashed no matter who we play there.

Like Mad Tiger said Schulzy is only out for 8-10 weeks, so expect him back in late April.
Although I don't think Schulzy would be anymore effective than Hall or Morrison, I still believe he is missing out on valuable CHB experience.
I never gave the team a chance to make the finals so I'm not worried about of this, however I cannot see us finishing anything under 12th.

Why do people keep saying this? Bowden beat both Brown & Hall, two of the biggest CHFs in the game.

Because taller players can outmark smaller players, especially at CHF where marking is the name of the game. Bowden is good at that Sean Wellman role, but against someone like Tredrea i'd rather a proper CHB.

Bentleigh, I don't know why you're so glum about it. Rodan wasnt exactly setting the world on fire and he's yet to convince me he was the answer to our midfield woes. It's a shocking blow for the lad and come at the worst possible time for him but we have many options for the midfield this year.

Same goes for shultz. Played one decent game last year and there was no guarantee he would have filled the void at CHB. He too has yet to convince me he can play.

Sheesh, all of a sudden 2 players go down and its doom and gloom.

Hang in there.

Tragic luck for the players involved and the club, but I wouldn't go throwing my hard-earned at the Tigers for this unwanted accolade just yet.

Hawthorn are a mere Johnny Barker injury away from being rendered all but impotent at CHF (given that young Boyle will not be avaialble until the second half of the season, at the earliest) and, as such, deserve at least equal wooden spoon billing.

On top of this, Adelaide looks as ordinary as it has ever looked during its entire history.
