#### YESSSSS. time to get rich.
From the Hun.Voss has accepted a two-year position as assistant coach, rejecting an offer from the AFL to be the foundation coach of the new Gold Coast club for its entry to the AFL in 2011.
- BREAKING NEWS MICHAEL Voss has chosen to learn the coaching craft at the Eagles instead of the new Gold Coast team.
Voss explained that the length of the term offered by the AFL - a three-year deal which included only one year as an AFL club - had been the sticking point in his decision.
"If I was going to accept the Gold Coast job I wanted to know I was going to be able to have a really good crack at it," he explained.
"I asked for an extended period but it wasn't to be. I understand a nd accept that.
"I have made a decision to pursue a coaching career and after two years out of AFL football I'm really excited about the prospect of joining the Eagles.
Voss had recently been counselled by legends Leigh Matthews and Mick Malthouse to get AFL coaching experience before taking on that gig.
Voss has resigned from his current post at the AFL's AIS Academy to take the West Coast position.
AFL general manager of national and international development, David Matthews, said the AFL had had strong interest in the coaching position and would now sit down with the GC17 football sub committee to look at the appointment of a coach to guide the young Gold Coast team in its first season in the TAC Cup.
"This is an exciting journey and one we think will set a number of young Queensland kids on the road to a career in the AFL,” he said.
