Is your sauce even made from real tomatoes?

I like to try and support local where possible, and recently bought a bottle of tomato sauce from a local tomato farm - I've never tasted sauce as sweet

When I checked the nutrition info it had about 2->3 times the amount of sugar per 100grams compared with the brand I normally buy

So while I can't confirm if they use real tomatoes, I can confirm they use way too much sugar

Depends on the flavour pie

I have a preference for beef, cheese and bacon pies, so often won't use additional sauce

But with a plainer variety I'll take the lid off to add sauce inside when eating at home. But if it's a pie at the footy, I'll grab a couple of those sauce packets and squeeze it on as I'm eating

Then remove the lid and eat the contents with a spoon, then eat the lid with a smear of pie filling then I eat the base

How good is that layer of pastry between the top of the filing and the base of the lid - it's not quite cooked fully, but the combination of sauce, pie & pie gravy makes it the best part of the pie
