I now work on the boats that ply up and down the Yarra and in the bay here in Melbourne. I do menial stuff. It's kinda hard to explain to people there that I was doing a postdoc in Florence a few months ago. But the weird thing is, despite the woeful pay, long hours, and unglamorous nature of the work, I quite like it. The people are nice, I get to talk to others for a change, and there's an honesty about it.
Which got me thinking... why do people do what they do? How much does money play a part? What other things influence what you do?

, so all up I guess I am lucky, if I got an extra $100 a week & we relocated to Melbourne, it would be the perfect job.
Hopefully next week I should be telling them to bugger off and then be switching stores!
Fortunately I care very little about money......
