The last two weeks have been ridiculous. I have no idea how the next week is going to be!!

Congrats guys, well deserved GF appearance coming your way after a stunning performance against the Swans. If you bring the same intensity as last night for 4 qtrs against the Hawks AND kick straight, you will knock them off. However, drop off for even half a quarter and they have the ability to score very quick in that time which can turn the match.

I will stop short of calling Ross Lyon a genius, but his game plan is elite no doubt about it. Crafted at St Kilda but didn't have the cattle to execute it there, it appears now he has near perfected the strategy and has the players to pull it off. :thumbsu: ALL players buying into his gameplan was certainly required (not sure he had that down at the Saints) but he's definitely got it now which is a credit to your playing group.

I see only one issue for Freeo next Saturday: defending the width of the MCG against the Hawks. Your defensive structures are better suited to the narrower grounds, and IMO Lyons biggest challenge is making it work just as good on the much wider MCG. My bet is that the Hawks use their footskills and switch the play a lot searching for the space to penetrate your midfield zone. Key to beating them? Cut down their uncontested possessions and put as much pressure around the ball as possible to damage their kicking efficiency. Geelong worked out this was the way to beat them a long time ago. They rely heavily on their foot skills, short hit up passes and uncontested possession, and are awesome when the game is played on their terms. Cut down their uncontested possession and their team doesn't look that flash at all.

That's my 2 cents, good luck next Saturday. Me and my buddies are right behind yas to knock off the Hawks :thumbsu:

Pretty calm but very excited. Calm - not because I think we don't have anything to worry about and that we will win, but because we've got nothing to lose and I'm already incredibly proud of our boys. Of course I will be gutted if we lose but I was probably more stressed going into the prelim than into the GF.

I know every single one of our boys will give 110%. I'm so bloody excited!!!!
