Weve had Best Bands..what about Worst bands...bands or 'groups' that when they come on the radio you just have to turn it off.

Mine would be:
Savage Garden, Human Nature, 5ive, or any other maufactured boy band plus mixed bands like steps and s club 7.
Methods of Mayhem, Slaves on Dope, Dope, Gerling, Hole, Psycore, Payable On Death, Robbiw Williams,

Powderfinger - pretentious rubbish

same goes for PJ Harvey and You Am I

Those manufactured boy/girl/hairdresser type bands don't piss me off thst much actually - at least they are not pretending to be anything other than what they really are.

Its the extremely average bands that have grossly inflated opinions of themselves that really annoy me.

cheers

i agree i dont like PowderFinger that much...i can not stand the singers voice...the most whiny voice in music.

I hate manufactured bands. Not because of the music (even tho it also sux) but you have bands out there that tour for massive amounts of time and get little or no success simply because of either lack of money or oppurtunity. Then you get the manufactured bands that are destined to be a success and popular and money making. Its a money making scheme basically. 4 or 5 people that have known each other for about 2 months and are suddenly the biggest thing in music because of a television show and a major record label...they are destined for success no matter how sh!t there music is simply because the teenage girl market will buy anything that is said to be popular or the 'in' thing.
Its funny how all these teenage girls love limp bizkit suddenly, yet if you played them a song of their first record when it was released they would sya "that is absolute crap'.

Savage Garden, Creed, Puff Daddy(not a band but a w***er), Boy Groups (Dont' play instruments so not really a band) most of that R+B sh!t that's out there, Ronan Keating, Robbie Williams, Anastasia, Bardot, Scandalus, Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, Ricky Martin, Goo Goo Dolls...... I've mentioned the whole Fox Fm Playlist here it seems.

Any band that doesnt play instruments piss me off, i know that there really groups but they just sh!t me. I mean there 5 guys who a fairly good looking who have decent voices. How many ppl are out there like that...fu@king millions. Backstreet, Five, Westlife, NSync..there just all really really bad.

Other absoute crap

Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park
Britney Spears (although i would do her :D )
Christina Agulieri
Marylin Manson
Hole
Scandalus (LMAO)

M29 - i like Craig David, i love rock n roll but i do get into R&B and he kicks ass.

Dont know what Powderfinger group you are all listening too but the one i listen too are one of the best bands in Australia.

My sentiments on all those. I am really surprised that Bardot and Scandal'us actually
did get popular. We have a "Popstars"-type show in the States called "Making the
Band" and the group that it produced was a colossal bust.

I think Powderfinger is okay. They really do not show anything I would consider
original or different from 100 others. My girlfriend spins the new one all day sometimes
and all of the songs really run together.

I'm really sick of bland pop-grunge. 3 Doors Down, Creed, Bush, Matchbox 20,
Third Eye Blind, Filter, Fuel, etc..... bands who when their songs are played
back to back to back with each other all sound like they were recorded in the
exact same recording studio with the exact same musicians, instruments,
effects, and producers and all the songs sound like they were
written by the same person. So much of the songs themselves have little melody
or creativity at all. Nobody plays guitar solos anymore. Drummers don't play fills
anymore (those rare times that there are REAL drums in the song and not sequenced
loops of samples). Creed probably pisses me off the most because their music is absolutely
inescapable wherever I go, it seems.

And I blame Nirvana for all of it. I don't understand why seemingly every music critic and publication in the world annoints them such god-like status because they somehow
"invented" grunge and got rid of hair bands (which have come back anyway). I think the
sheer number of mediocre copycats they created in the mid-90s is enough to take away any
credit they deserve.

I really think the whole industry needs a kick in the pants right now. It sucks, because I eventually hope to be a part of it at some point and I will have to compete with all this rubbish.

Anything that's played by a w***er at 100 dB in his car at the lights.
Ricky Martin.
Darky music from the US (and this is worlds best practice?)

For one, i hate people that call certain bands, try hard Nirvana's or something, its absolute bull********.

And two, the following are a list of bands/groups/singers i dislike:
Mandy Moore
Leah Haywood
Ronan Keating
Creed
Hole
KoRn (or however people do it)
Limp Bizkit
Machpelican
and many many more.......

Stealth, how can you possibly blame Nirvana for the bands that came after them? These guys bought alternative music (at the time) to the general populous and I'm thankful for it. It gave every kid who wanted to start a band the belief that there was a chance to make a living from their art, no matter what style they played.
The blame for all the crap bands that came after Nirvana rests solely at the feet of the music media and record companies, who decided that it was only one style of music they were interested in and invented the 'grunge formula' which every band then had to adhere to or they could forget about any recognition.

I also think the word 'sellout' is used too often on these threads. But that's another 1000 word essay I don't want to complete just now.
The REAL bands who qualify for the worst band status are COVER BANDS They have NO ABILITY OR TALENT and make money playing other peoples songs. They also take work away from real musicians who are out there CREATING MUSIC and no matter what style, are at least being true to themselves, and yes, I do have some idea of what I'm talking about. I spent 12 years in a band writing songs and we fortunately did pretty well here in Adelaide and in the Eastern states.
