Folks,

That would have to be the WORST pregame entertainment I have EVER seen at ANY sporting event in the world.

I wanna know who green-lighted the gay football dancers? I know the girls were comedians, but still.

I was at a party watching the game and asked a buddy from Melbourne what was wrong with Aussies and his reply was simply "that's why I'm over here." We were both kind of joking, of course, but...

I must have heard the phrase "I'm embarrassed to say I'm Australian" about 20 times last night.

Kind of hard to get international fans when your opening ceremony is that god-awful.

Why doesn't the AFL have somebody good like AC/DC play at the opening instead of people you've never even heard of. I remember I was at the Sydney/North grand final a few years ago at the G and NOBODY around me knew who was singing the national anthem.

Please somebody save the AFL. Please.....

I didn't actually see it as I was trying to kill time on my PS2, but I got text messages from 2 of my mates saying it was wretched.

Their standards are pretty low so it must've sucked. ;)

Can't say I watched it either ... & it doesn't appear I missed much.

Saw the half-time running race though. Pity Jericho didn't run as well as he did in the heat. Hard to recognise him with the shorter hair.

Yes, apart from Guy, it was very average, but it's what you come to expect from AFL Grand Final pre-match entertainment.

Although, it's never so bad when your team is there and winning...I know I actually enjoyed 97 and 98...funny that...

Guy whats-his-name should be banished from singing the national anthem full stop.

What ever happened to Julie Anthony or Kate Cerebramo ??

Well, I think we moved into the 21st century...

But yes, what a superb rendition of our nation's anthem, the only quality during an otherwise dreary pre match spectacle.

I'd have to agree, but it was crying out for a bass drop and a soul clap.

 Noddster, Guy hit every note in beautiful pitch to the way the song was meant to be sung. And best of all; he sang it LIVE. Something that has been missing the past few Grand Finals. I quite enjoyed it. However I thought Guy was a bit lost in the "Waltzing Matilda" but I thought he came into his own domain in "Advance Australia Fair". I also thought the tenors did good work of the Port song...maybe not the Hoil Grail, but they belted out "We'll never stop, stop, stop" well. Well done to them. However was admissant of many more acts.

Wouldn't quite say it was superb & Fro isn't really my cup of tea, but the rendition was OK. Could have been worse if it was performed by the Barnesy-wannabe.

tsk tsk Noddy, didn't you watch Australian Idol last year?!?! Getting rid of Guy's fro is blasphemous according to Dicko, Marcia, and what's that other guy's name, oh yeah Mark

Could've been worse. They could have got Shannon Noll to sing the anthem. That guy would have butchered it beyond all recognition.

As for the 'tenors'. Were they really singing it live or just lip-syncing? Because it certainly sounded like a studio rendition.

Never even knew what Big Brother was until i joined the BF Big Brother show & to be honest i'm still not sure what to make of it all

There was some strange happenings in that so-called house of naughtiness. :(

& he still needs a haircut, that is if it is his hair & not just a stage prop from the long time ago musical HAIR

If i said no i have a feeling i would somehow feel sort of "not quite the norm"

so i'll just say he was great in Home & Away

he he right, I'll take that as a no and say  were you overseas last year??? ;) :p

I was lucky - timed my run so that I switched on just as the first siren went. All this makes me miss Grand Final parties back in my hometown where we did our own entertainment.

Everybody now! I'm not the pheasant plucker I'm the pheasant pluckers wife, plucking pleasant pheasants is a..... yeah you get the idea.

The ten tenors bored me, would have preferred the people who sang those songs out there.

Mike Brady, Mark Seymour, Greg Champion etc.

This years pre-game entertainment was shocking - even worse than the year when we were performing "Do the dipper, do the sheedy..."
