Worst Umpires

Which umpires do you hate?

I don't like Steve McBurney, Martin Ellis, Scott McLaren or Michael Avon.

With Michael Avon, he has been known to be a real grumpy bum when he has teams that he hates.

Too fussy. You always know he's umpiring and I think the best umpires are the ones who aren't noticed when they are umpiring.

I don't like Coates very much either. I won't forget that day when he wouldn't change a flat ball before David Schwarz took a set shot, but two minutes later called for a new footy. He didn't umpire any Melbourne games for the rest of that season.

Every Ump has their good and bad points. I'll go through the worst three in the league---

Humphery B. Bear
Good: Unbiased
Bad: Has never in his career made a correct decision or bounced the ball straight.

Gavin Dork
Good: Hates Hawthorn
Bad: Hates Geelong more.

Darren Goldstink
Good: Retired.
Bad: Can't make fun of him anymore.

That's odd because Gavin Dore loves Hawthorn. He hates Collingwood and Adelaide because of Mick Malthouse and Wayne Carey

I actually thought Goldspink was the best umpire before he retired.
He always paid the decisions that no umpire would have the guts to pay. Nine times out of ten he was correct aswell.

I know Hawks fans blame him for what happened in 2001 against Essendon but he was with Vozzo and Ellis that day and I reckon they made some bad decisions aswell.

I don't like Gavin Dore as he seems to be a smart arse on the field in the way he signals all his decisions.

He is not allowed to hate a team, why does he hate MM and WC Goaldrush?

Spot on.

His vain attempts at a straight bounce last weekend were laughable.

I know it's a hard task to master, but really, if one can't bounce, they really shouldn't be umpiring at the top level.

It would be akin to a footballer who cannot hit a target, ever, getting a regular game.
Wouldn't happen, well, unless you played for Geelong.

Goldspank by a LOOOOOOOOOONG margin. Two words, Hawthorn and Carlton. Unbelievable that one man can decide a whole game on his own. Moreso in the Carlton game.

Goldspink was by far the worst scum ever.

As for whistling in harmony, the afl clearly had nothing better to do with carltons 'donation'. So blame them bastards for it.

Definitely the worst umpire i've ever seen is Grant Vermin. He was our bane for our first 4 or 5 years when he consistently made efforts to show how unbiased a West Australian he was by never paying the WA teams a free kick without someone losing their head.

An utter tosser whose legend still lives on.

Couldn't believe it when he ran out today at the Sandringham v Bendigo VFL game. He is also on the AFL list this year so he must've changed his mind over the off season.

FWIW, he was terrible this afternoon. The four cops did their job protecting him as he walked off the ground. LOL.
