Would you be happy with Yarran?

I would cry if we don't recruit a hard nut at 6. I hate soft co*** and we have way too many in our squad. We need a Dean Rice, a Fraser Brown who would turn the game on with furious agression, i belive Zeibell and Hurley are those type of players. Those players win you games, ask Hawthorn.

Zeibell>Hurley>Rich>Hartlett>>>Yarran.

Comparison is one thing, ability is another. If Ziebell had Hodge's ability he'd go at 1.

Nonetheless he may well be the closest we've seen since the original.

Skill wise would be happy to have him, factor in other matters that are very concerning and I'd be very, very disappointed. Would strongly prefer Hurley or Ziebell.

Even if we get a gun, I will be pissed off for the first day if we don't get Yarran and he goes to a club before our pick.

Essendon and Port already have more than a few wingman and HFF with pace and goalkicking talent as it stands.

Yarran is just what we need when we have a one paced midfield that needs more skill and legspeed.

We need Yarran more than Hurley, Hartlett and Rich IMO.

You'd have to be a fool to question the Blues if we draft Yarran.

Trengove might be the only player who would make me forget about Yarran.

Go on.

No one has said anything bad about Yarran, so I think you're clutching at straws and jumping to conclusions.
I thought that was Hurn that was the next Voss/Hodge???

No????

Its Ziebel is it????
Goddard is the next Buckley and Tambling is the next Wells...

i desperately hope we get Yarran, and I also hope we dont get Hurley.

Over the next 2 pre-seasons if Jamison and Bower can add another 10-15kg to there frame then i am confident they can take on the rare gorilla forwards in this league. Even looking at pictures of Austin, he looks like he will be big enough to handle opposition big forwards within a few more years.

Bower - Jamison - Thornton - Austin - Waite, that is enough, imo.

get a goal kicker. Fisher couldnt score in a brothel, and edwards/hartlett are shit. Yarran for mine.

Look how stale how forward line is...Fev is the only real excitement machine...Betts has his moments but needs to be more consistent.

We need to add something more to our forward line...it is too predictable and one dimensional. Yarran or Trengove would go some way to changing that. Think of defenders being in two minds...do I worry about Yarran or go to Fev. Think about the setups we could have with Trengove at CHF...not only will he lead up and drag defenders from Fev but then you could have Fev leading up taking defenders with him and then being able to bomb the ball to Trengove who will give you a very good contest or even mark it. Then you have FIsher getting the 3rd defender and doing better with less attention.

I dare say Fisher has been getting less attention regardless of who we have in our team. But yes, Yarran brings together X Factor with class and consistency. There is no saying how he'll go but that's the same for everyone. People come to watch Judd, and Fev turn it on, I'd love to see Yarran in the navy blue getting our hearts racing.

If Vickery were available would you take him or Hurley?

Please correct me if im wrong but i remember reading somewhere that Carlton rated Vickery no.1 in the draft..is that correct?

I hate when people do this. It's stupid to expect a 17 year old kid to have that kind of impact early in his career.

Who said I was talking next year? I thought most people would assume I was talking long term...most KP don't blossom until their 4th year anyway. By that time you might expect Fev to have slowed down anyway...hopefully there is some succession planning in place for our forward line.

I've warmed to him in recent weeks after being on the Hurley wagon for months now.

Yarran seems to have an amazing goal sense which is what we need so desperately.:thumbsu:

my big worry with him is that there seems to be something in his character that says "the go home factor" :thumbsd:

if we do snag him, i hope Eddie takes him under his hairy wing teaches him the meaning of Navy Blue

His mother from all reports is moving to wherever he goes to help him adjust to the new environment. I would not worry about the go home factor, if you're really really worried about that factor, then just make sure you only draft Vic Metro boys.

I think the 'go home factor' is fairly over-rated, from the number of players drafted to other states, how many actually go back to their home state in their prime or at anytime for that matter? Hardly any.

and dont expect a new kid to come to the blues e.g. JAckson Trengove and start taking the pill like buddy in his first year

I think Carlton should get Yarren, from the sounds of it he's an excitement machine and that's what Carlton needs

Have you lost the plot Effes? Yarran isn't a KP, he's 180 cm tall.
