Have you ever told a joke that is totally wrong for the crowd you're in?
Like yesterday I told our receptionist that Ima turn the basement at our office into my rape dungeon; she's obviously not a big alf Stewart fan.
Or the other day I had to go see some trades on site and one of them was complaining about his sausage roll being cold, so I offered to warm it under my armpit. He looked at me in disgust and said, "WTF is wrong with you?"
Or there was the time the HR guy at work called me and my manager into his office and said, "it's pretty cramped in here so sit wherever you can." I replied, "is that an invitation to sit on your lap?" neither of them saw the humor in it.
Tbh though, the reactions I got in all three instances gave me more satisfaction than if they had been met with laughter, so go figure.
Does anyone else have any stories they'd like to share?
