Did anyone else at the start of the day become extremely worried about how we lined up today in the wet? I turned my TV on at 11am and saw it pouring with rain and I thought we were very little chance. We went in with a dry, tall team.
In those conditions I have to wonder why we didn't travel with two small players incase of the conditions.
Certainly cookie would have been handy today.

Poor CC was at a hinding to nothing because had he gone smaller and dropped some taller well known players and the result been the same he would have been critised for going in to small and inexperienced.

But in those conditions playing Sandi, Warnock & taz didn't make much sense to me.

Jeez Kenny, did Cookie kick your arse back at school or something? He would have been pretty effective today, the conditions would have suited him perfectly.

But I don't think our problem was selection, it was game style and decision making. Why we persisted to kick short into our forward line time and time again had me stuffed. I don't think it came off once all day. It's just dumb footy when it's wet.

Sorry, but it has been atleast 12 months since I've seen Cookie be 'effective' in a game away from home.

Actually, other than the Hawks game last season and the 3 goals against Adelaide this season, I havn't seen him be effective in 12 months no matter what ground we are playing on.

Playing Cook is a step in the wrong direction.

Not only is he getting on in age, has poor disposal and vision, and slow.... he won't be a part of our side next season which we need to develop for... so why play him?

Great clubman but not up to AFL standard anymore.

I agree, heart as big as bull and if we could transplant it, it would do a world of good. But other than that...

We have Ibbotson and Foster waiting for a game and we are now stuffed so why play Cookie?

The time to go youth has come... It really has... We may as well try and st up for next season.
Warnock is a keeper, and gets better with each match. We should really be giving matches to the younger gusy who will be there next year to see if they are made of the right stuff.

Connolly said that he was taking the best team he had ever had against Sydney , I think theres something in that for all of us What?

I am the greatest Cookie fan, but the time has passed him.

Hase looks like he needs a rest, bring in Ibbo or Foster. Give Big Carr a blast or throw him to the sharks.

Still think the artform of kicking out after a point has been totally lost on Freo. It seems anybody does the kicking out, do they practice it at training ?, I doubt very much. Look I will come down and give them some guidance in this area for a sausage in a bun or two.
