The umpire had to think twice before claiming it was a behind. It was a 50/50 decision. I believed it to be a goal, I mean, it IS a goal.

However, if the umpire said it was goal, it could've caused controversy as well.

finally just saw it, and certainly going on the way kirk danced, and the fans behind the goal, the goal ump was the only one in the vicinity who didn't think it was a goal
but i still can't believe barlow, ROK and moore all missed fairly simple shots, especially ROK
and poor old jarred moore, that's now two last-minute behinds he's kicked this year that would've won matches if they'd been goals

Haha yeah I can't believe Barlow kicked it straight to North player in the goal square:o

It looked like a goal. Fact remains that if Davis hadn't missed two piss easy shots earlier on, or Barlow hadn't blazed away twice at crucial moments in the last quarter, or if Jude Bolton's middle name wasn't Out-of-Bounds; it wouldn't have mattered. 8-16 is terribly disappointing.

In fact, I've rarely been so disappointed after a game. I thought we were the far better side (particuarly in the first quarter). Poor form to let down all the enormous work from the backs and mids with (admittedly team-wide) poor accuracy.

The biggest disappointments to me today were the misses by Bolton, Davis (and to a lesser degree Kirk even taking a shot from that range), Buchanan's umpteen free kicks against and O'Loughlin's slipping over in the goal square.

Interestingly I don't have many complaints about the kids.

Out: Davis - if you kicked a bag you could be excused for the rest of your game but you didn't!

There were two I can distinctly remember, where his hands were on his opponents' back. Its just an instinctive thing to do in a marking contest these days. Very unfortunate, but I can't remember what else he was giving away free kicks?

everitt in for davis
and with others coming back, there have to be BIG question marks over davo's future
 
He'll get it together. I found it a bit unfair that Roosy's been making comments about him that openly. About how he doesn't deserve to be in the team, etc.

I'm all for being honest, but to shoot them down even before they've even played 2 games for the season is harsh. No wonder he looked shot even before he set out to play.

...but funny (Well, not for you guys!)...the Kangaroos player punched the ball forward and it hit the back of the post!...

was at the game and i swear it was a goal, until some fat old slapper from kangaroos told me it wasnt! anyway :)
what was the official 50 meter penalty count?
it seemed like every free or penalty was the roos
