Out of nowhere, a heap of episodes of WWF Wrestling Challenge have suddenly appeared. I know I'm stuck in the past but it was a great nostalgia rush to see what was my favourite wrestling TV show all over again. I used to pop every Saturday I heard that porno sax theme song. They've even left on the absolute boss introduction to the show.

Read that the Network was Sold

So is this the End of WWE Network or Just being owned by NBC?

How long until the International versions (what we have) stop working on certain consoles, TV’s?
Can’t see WWE up-keeping the quality for a minority customer base overseas.

Almost half their subscribership is overseas, and the deal announced today is a 5-year "lease" of the network from WWE - from what I understand WWE still have to maintain it, improve it, present new content etc.

stopped working on my TV a while back. :(

Reckon about the same

Not sure that we will be able to stream NBC here unless you use a vpn? would suck if only Americans have access to the Network under NBC

It would and They would lose a Lot of Customers then

I thought I read from 1.6 million subscribers, 1.1 million were from the US.

Certainly hope we as international subscribers still get the same experience

The one thing I would change about the network is that they categorised the shows into eras or at least put all the shows in one section so that you could watch everything in order.

For example go back to attitude era and it would just play through shows and ppv’s.

The way it is set up is that while it’s possible to watch everything in order it’s , very frustrating having to flick back and forth all the time

Signed up to watch the Rumble, it streamed perfectly :)

Logged on to watch a replay of this week's Raw, only to discover it doesn't get added for a few weeks... very disappointing

28 Days.

It's been that way since Day 1 of the Network. It allows the WWE to sell not just the live rights, but the Live +28 rights to other providers around the world. For example- Foxtel & Kayo in Australia, Hulu in the US, etc.

So I now realise we in Australia got a different version of Wrestling Challenge, quite possibly the UK feed. It was a better show than the one that's on the network - a bit of research suggests it was a cut down version of Prime Time - hence getting to see actual arena matches between top guys (which you didn't get on Superstars of Wrestling). That being said the US version is still great fun. They would have a main-event but a three to four minute match with a screwjob ending. Still great watching how terrific the show was put together - it just flows so well. The squash matches are great (Randy Savage was so, so damn good) and you get promos from Jake Roberts, Iron Sheik, etc.

Almost as entertaining is hearing Lord Alfred Hayes absolutely botch the ring announcements. Among the highlights is him referring to Kamala as Kamali, noting the match was "scheduled for one flaw" and forgetting the name of one of the jobbers, stopping half way through the intro and audibly asking him "What's your name again?"
