I like this show, better than some other talent shows. Acts are good and we get to hear them, peripheral rigmarole is kept to a minimum. Judges are likable.

What were Natalie's words again? It was like copping it in the bum, but it felt good? Something like that. Genuine LOL.

Johnny shouldn't be there. Got an English soccer thug look about him and he's an average singer.

Declan is of limited value, he does his cooky Pet Shop Boys thing well, but not much else. Voice is unique and interesting.

Mitchell needs to chill out a bit. Does have a great country voice. Was thinking Roy Orbison's 'Crying' would be good for him though his vocal range might struggle. Been portrayed as nasty which won't please everyone.

Young Mens. They do what they do well. But meh.

Andrew's only negative is his age and look. He gave a flawless power performance tonight. If it comes down to the viewers he might be lucky and get sympathy votes.

Three Wishez have their chick, she's a great singer. I rate them above Young Mens. The voters will too. This group could win.

Reece is a cool kid and nails his performances. I see him and Christina as much the same thing but opposing genders. Both have youth on their side which gets them bonus points.

Christina, see above. She owns the stage, born to be there. Both her and Reece are win contenders.

It's too early for Audio Vixen to be out but they wouldn't have won anyway, great sound but wrong look for the demographic being targeted.

Nat said to Mitchell he is a joy to work with but can be a real pain in the arse at times then followed it up with a real pain in the arse but in a good way.
She also commented about loving Reece's guns to which ronan had to tell her he is only 16 !!

HarryTiger has summed each act up perfectly, imo.

Im over Declan so much. He just isn't very good. Plain and simply. He is interesting, and quirky, but he just isn't that great a singer.

Johnny needs to go, and needs to go fast.

Reece and Christina are the 2 front runners, and wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final.
I didn't really like Christina's performance last night though. Teenage Dirtbag should have been a pretty easy song, but it wasn't that good. Some really good spots in it, but struggled a bit.

Week five power rankings

1) Reece
Maroon Five, SHE WILL BE LOVED
Maintains number one position for the third week running. His performance was a bit different as he sat isolated, but he delivered it well without any problems. Has some decent arms for a sixteen-year-old.

2) Young Men Society
Beyonce, PUT A RING ON IT
Once again sitting in second spot, with a hip hop rendition of Beyonce and Sean Paul to boot. I love how they successfully jump from one song to another. They've done it a few times now.

3) Three Wishez
Eminem, LOSE YOURSELF
Again, sitting in third spot with another brilliant performance from Fred Dog and Sophia. This is one of my favourite songs of all time (funnily enough, I'm pretty sure it was the number two song of 2003 behind the Black Eyed Peas with Where is The Love, the band who they are about to replicate), and they did it differently, but very well. I loved Fred being a ring announcer turned rapped turned ring announcer, and Sophia played her part well. Joseph was weak once again, and I swear he is one good performance away from this group leapfrogging YMS and Reece into number one spot. I honestly believe Fred Dog and Sophia are that good. If he was replaced with one of the crew from YMS, wow - what an amazing band we'd have.

4) Christina
Wheatus, TEENAGE DIRTBAG
Loved it. She was a few notes out of tune at times, but overall a very good performance. This is the Christina I like seeing. She definitely has a future, and can't wait to see her continue on. It was cool how she started off looking like a nerdy school girl and then transformed into someone with a lot more style.

5) Andrew
Stereophonics, SMASH DAKOTA
Yes!!! Go you good thing. Finally, we saw him move a bit on the stage. It was great that he brought out a guitar. Couldn't help but laugh when it was suggested that he needs uglier people on stage with him to stand out more, and he made a comment suggesting that would be a very tough ask. He has a cool personality, which is important in the industry. Very laid back bloke and quite a powerful voice. My favourite part of his performance was at the end when Nat bounced to her feet and jumped up and down with excitement, her boobs bounced with her... AWESOME!

6) Declan
Youth Group, FOREVER YOUNG
A huge improvement from last week's disaster. He has such a unique voice and is a bit different, but I like that about him. He doesn't have a brilliant voice, but it's good enough to make it in the industry. Just needs to make sure he avoids last week's disaster again.

7) Mitchell
The Rolling Stones, SATISFACTION
His best performance to date. I'm starting to enjoy his performances more, but I agree his attitude needs to smarten up. It was good to see his emotional side in the rehearsal, as it obviously means a lot to him, but I didn't like the way he stormed off stage and being a pain in the ass and rude to Nat. He has a good voice and could make a successful country singer.

8) Johnny
Justin Timberlake, ROCK YOUR BODY
Oh deer, the only poor performance for the night, which is bad news for Johnny considering he was in last week's bottom two. He better make sure he sings for his life tonight. I reckon the only chance he has to survive would be if he joins Declan in the bottom two and Declan flops his performance something shocking. I can't see more than two judges wanting to keep Johnny in.

Someone put a contract on Johnny, this isn't right.

How the **** does he keep getting through? I dont understand. He is ****ing terrible.

So close to getting rid of Declan as well. I didn't like YMS that much either, but I liked them way more than him. They also did a great performance last night. Declan is just shit. God this show shits me.

Ronan looks ****ing pissed.

Nat had the chance to send Declan home. Stupid bitch.

How does that old guy keep making it through btw? That's what I want to know.

Lonely old housewifes that have lost their husbands and have nothing better to do besides sitting at home and watching everything thats on tv? Other then that Andrew has some rich friends that can keep voting :p

Tonight's result was a disgrace a complete and utter disgrace. How could YMS, who IMO had the best performance last night, get the least amount of voice. Do teenage girls have no taste in music.

Also, why the hell was Christina losing her composure because she was the last contestant announced as safe. If she can't handle that pressure, how is she going to handle real pressure.

Perhaps it was cruel but I laughed seeing tears streaming down Christina's face. Didn't think she'd be out, and I'm sure the order isn't points sorted until the bottom 2 remain. The order is a variable the producers can toy with to their liking.

I don't mind Declan actually, I prefer Reece and Christina though. Declan's issue is for me he is too "out there", it is the reason he has been in the bottom 2, and should have been in the bottom 2the week before if we are being honest. Mind you it was a shocking song choice these last 2 weeks. Declan's issue (and it is the same with Christina and Reece), is that he is pitchy at times despite the judges wanting to make love with him all the time.

what an overall strange elimination show this was.
johnny's fist pump (and minor acrobatics) of being relieved he got through. weird.
christina's tears at the realisation she will be bottom two. weird.
declan and yms being in the bottom 2. weird.
nat's choice to go into lockdown when clearly declan should be the one to get eliminated (and thus spare us all from another "quirky" declan performance). weird.
and then there were jason derulo and altiyan child's performances

Any chance YMS got eliminated was partly due to their heritage plus not being as marketable in terms of looks. they must be not getting the young girls votes. talent does not always equals votes. reality tv

LOL don't forget your race card ;)

YMS flat out stunk it up on Monday. I'd been fully behind them until then. They showed precious little growth throughout the show.

Were they bottom two? No.

Was Declan superior? In every way.

The two that need to go for mine though are Johnny and Mitchell. Not a fan of either of them. Very vanilla but they get the teeny bopper girls voting for them.

Winner? Easily it'll be Reece. Second will be Three Wishez.

X factor Australia is pretty shit. Am watching the UK and US versions and they are amazing. Not 1 act from our X factor would get on either US or UK versions-serious.

I'm probably not the best to argue a point with you, as I don't watch those two versions, but I'd find it hard to entertain the idea that Reece wouldn't be a contender in those versions. Surely he at least makes the top 12 in both of those versions. I'd be staggered if there were up to twelve from both series combined who are better than Reece.

But as mentioned, I haven't watched those versions, so I don't really know.

What I do know is that Leona Lewis, who won the UK version about 4-5 years ago, sung Whitney Houston's Will Always Love You in one of her performances. It was a very good performance... but Tara-Lynn Shammock, who also performed that song during the auditions of this year's Australian X Factor, out performed Leona Lewis, IMO... and that was only an audition.

If Tara-Lynn had have got her VISA sorted, I think it would be extremely close between her and Reece.

So, yeah, I struggle to see how Reece would not at least be a contender in the UK X Factor, considering I would think he would be close to equal to Leona Lewis.
