I preloaded it on the weekend. I hate staggered releases so much when it comes to digital products.
Looks like I'll be leaving my computer on overnight, this is taking a fair while to load and my internet connection is slow as treacle.
I played a couple of hours today using spotflux as a VPN.
It's awesome. It's like Valkyria Chronicles with a Sci-Fi theme and an awesome base building element. Seeing my assault soldier of 10 missions go down almost made me feel a little sad lol (RIP 'Casino').

How many soldiers can you have on base to cover injuries?

Max is 99 so numbers aren't a problem but you want to just keep on upgrading your soldeirs.
On another note, suffered my first casualty which happened in my first terror mission. **** me the Chryssalids are nasty in this. Still not as deadly in the original.

can you train your soldiers in the base? or do they just improve with mission experience?. 99 sounds good but I guess you have to pay wages, and thus budget?

They train through mission experience although you can unlock the ability to have them recruited as Squaddies.

anyone got the pc version and having trouble downloading the new patch?????? mine keeps stalling despite fast internet connection....cant play the game until it is finished. very frustrating

cheers...did that and ended up vertifying integrity of game cache in streams xcom properties....for anyone else who has this problem. still slowly updating but making progress

worse thing is im having update download issues whilst sitting next to my brother while he plays his on ps3...oh the pain and frustration
