I have good quality headphones and most of my music is ripped from CD's at 320 kbps. Sounds awesome to me. Surely there isn't an overly noticeable difference between different MP3 players?

Unless you're an audiophile you won't notice. And if you were an audiophile you wouldn't be listening to lossy compressed mp3's with shitty earbuds, which is what a lot of the "poor sound quality" argument is based on.

No it didn't (even ignoring that Y2K was not a virus but a widespread programming glitch). It got affected by a clock based bug (which was as Y2K as it got) that caused it to have a problem at the end of leap years. It may well have been fine had it existed at the end of 1999 - but had a problem at the end of 2000 and 2004. If they still exist, they'll have a problem with Dec 31 2012 as well.

Shitty programming, but if they work again from Jan 1st, it's not the end of the world. Though it would have sucked if you were using it for music playback at a NYE party...

yes it did. It caught the Y2K virus and had to avoid other MP3 players for about 2 weeks, tops. Sure, it got better, but who knows how it affected its sperm?

doesn't matter how good the Zune or the Zen are, iPod is the best, and everyone knows it.

Try this.
Reformat the IPOD of your choice. install some third party firmware (lots out there on the forums), Install Floola, an "Itunes viral pus" replacement proggy and 100 times smaller....and whahayahey....you have a real MP3 player with all the funstionality of a PooPod but without crapware installed or the bloaty bigbrotherware that runs it.
