Yes. Definitely!
We don't know how quickly he'll step-up to the pace of AFL, but based on his style-of-play he'll be right up there with a shot. Previous nominees and winners have bene guys with a lot of flair, and guys who can turn a match. Palmer was obviously just a workhouse (but an exceptional one at that).
Yarran is the sort of guy that will bob up with three flukish last quarter goals to win you a match. I expect he'll definitely be top five.

I guess because they can is the wrong answer???Is this realted to the old question
"why do Thylacines lick their balls ?"
Doubt it. Midfielders award.
And the training reports don't sound too great...
Cyril got close.......
I don't buy the part about a midfielders award. It just so happens that no forwards were better than the winner in any particular year.
And Don't You forget itMitch Robinson might win it. Looks like being the steal of the 2008 draft.![]()
Don't count Robo out, either.

Rich would be the best chance of winning.
Already guaranteed a start with Brisbane and has the body to see him through the first year.
Yarran should also be ready day 1, but can't see him doing enough in a pocket to win.
Robinson may get his chance in the seniors some time through the year.
Won't play enough games to be eligible. Robinson should be in our starting 22 next year.
I honestly think Yarran may struggle in his first season.
I think he will need to adapt to the pace of AFL footy.
Nah... he has a heap of time and room.
He will step up when the footy and the crowds are there.
